We love it when Peanut is awake and alert. It usually happens in the evening. He got to hang out with Yai for a bit and then laid around looking out the window.

Here he is on Mama’s lap. We were having a staring contest this evening.
Watch us grow!

It was a warm, sunny morning so we walked along The Embarcardero to get home after dropping off Janie at school.

What a nice way to start the day! We got a long walk for Mama and some Vitamin D for baby.

Peanut stayed awake the whole way home.

Janie is so lucky to have so many options for getting to school. Today, we took the train!

WEEEEE!!

This was also Peanut’s first ride on public transportation. We were lucky to have an empty car this morning so we were free from germs. Win!

We’ve been reading a book about construction trucks and passed a construction site on our walk from the train to school. We saw an excavator on the move!

Here’s the entrance to Janie’s preschool. Drop-off went ok today. Janie said, “Bye bye, Mommy” but then had some tears when I actually left.

This evening, Peanut was so alert that he was able to hang out with Auntie Joy, Uncle Johnny, and Alice on FaceTime for a little while.

He also stayed up after he was changed into his PJs.

This morning, before heading out to school, Janie helped get her brother changed and dressed for the day. He was going to drop her off at school today!

We all walked together to Janie’s school and said our goodbyes. She had a few tears when Mama left but she was going to be brave this Monday morning. Unfortunately, Mama had to leave so quickly that no photos were taken today.

After dropping off big sister, Peanut got to cruise the city streets in his stroller.

He pretty much slept through Mama’s doctor’s appointment and the whole way home.

This morning, Janie hosted a picnic party and Peanut also joined them.

This is what full and satisfied looks like.

He was wide awake this morning too.

Peanut was extra hungry this evening, so Yai gave him a bottle before we all headed to bed.

Of course, Peanut was wide awake at this time of day so he just hung out with Dada in bed.

He looked so content with his Puppy. He’s getting pretty good holding onto it.

Later, big sis was having trouble sleeping so she jumped into bed with us. Peanut was just chilling on a pillow and Janie helped him get the puppy back in his mouth.

This afternoon, Peanut had his first visit to the pediatrician. They weighed and measured him as usual and unfortunately his weight is down from his birth weight by 1 pound. I guess Mama hasn’t been making enough milk so far despite feeding every hour. The doctor took a look at his photos from birth and she has a hunch that he was a little swollen with fluid when he was born and wasn’t supposed to weigh as much.
So, he’s now 7 pounds, 12 ounces today at barely 3 days of age.

Regardless, his weight is down and he was looking a little yellow (jaundice). So, the game plan now is for Mama to start pumping to increase the milk supply and in the meantime, Peanut got his first taste of formula (just 2 ounces) this evening to help fill up his belly and to get him to poop more.

Hopefully Mama’s milk will increase fast enough to get him back on track to dumpling status like his sister. Our next appointment is on Thursday for a weight check.

And here’s a photo of Big Sis and Mama at the doctor’s office. Janie still wouldn’t talk to her doctor. *sigh* Oh well. She still managed to score a lollipop from her too.

This morning, Janie took Muni with Yai to visit Peanut.

Mama ordered lemon Jello for her as a special treat.

She had her treat at the table while Dada ate the breakfast that she had brought for him.

While she waited for Peanut to wake up, she lounged in Mama’s bed and watched Frozen on the big screen.

She also had some snuggle time with Dada during the movie.

Once Peanut woke up, she got to hold him and give him big hugs.

Not sure he’s a fan of the big sister hugs yet but it’s still cute.
