Brave Girl

IMG_0282

Today, Janie went to see the dentist.  In the past, she has cried but today she sat on Mama’s lap and opened her mouth for the hygienist to clean her teeth!  No tears!!!

She also opened her mouth for Uncle Randy to count and check her teeth!  We were so proud of her today.  She also went home with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, toy, and Elsa sticker.  Hooray!  What a brave girl!

Our little boy is 4 weeks old today and growing so fast!  Here are highlights from this past week:

  • He now has eyebrows! Yay!
  • Growth: His thighs are filling in and his belly is big and round.  He also has some chubby cheeks that are perfect for smooching.
  • This past week, he got some outdoor time by the pool with all the warm weather we had.
  • First zoo trip: Of course, he’s too young to really appreciate what the zoo has to offer but he got some fresh air and time with the family.
  • His eyes have cleared up and his color has improved.  We think he’s almost done with the whole jaundice thing.
  • Vision: It seems like he can see a lot more this week.  He’s giving more eye contact and tracking objects better lately.  Mama put up a mobile and he actually watches the object go in circles for a few seconds at a time.
  • We also got invited to a wedding in Vancouver so Peanut also got his photo taken for his passport.

He’s almost 1 month old!  Where does the time go??

House full of kids!!

IMG_8820

Auntie Jia, Uncle Jason, Thomas, and Toni all came over today.  It was the first time we had all four kids together in our house and it was so much fun to see them together.   We put Peanut and Thomas next to each other on Dada’s lap and there was such a size difference!!

Then we put them side-by-side on the sofa and got some pretty funny expressions out of them.

What a difference two months makes!  The twins are 2 months, 7 days old and Peanut is 9 days old today.

Here’s a video of all the action:

Unfortunately, Janie was not in the mood for pictures today so we’ll have to get all four of them together on another day.

Family Outing

IMG_8747

Just like we did with Janie when she was a week old, we took Peanut out to the Farmer’s Market today.

IMG_8745

Big sis rode her scooter while Peanut hung out in the carrier.

He was super cozy and slept the entire time with the exception of his feedings throughout the day.

IMG_8751

Janie got a special treat, soft serve, for having such a successful first week of preschool.

IMG_8752

She picked out vanilla and chocolate swirl and had it in a cone with a spoon – her favorite.

IMG_8757

She felt so special because soft serve is for big kids and not for babies.

IMG_8762

After a stop at the playground, we had lunch nearby.  IMG_8763

Janie tried to use chopsticks to pick up gyoza but then realized stabbing them with just one stick was more effective.

IMG_8764

Dada shielded Peanut’s head from his noodles while he ate lunch.

IMG_5201

This was very similar to what he did last time with Janie.

IMG_8770

On the way home, Dada carried Peanut in the carrier.  He, again, snoozed the whole way home.

IMG_8775

Janie also slept in her stroller so that’s why she wasn’t included in this photo.

Here’s the photo we took with Janie when she was the same age.

Can you see his little face inside?  So cute.IMG_5201

Lots of snoozin’

IMG_8521

This kid sleeps all day and wakes up more at night.  This photo reminds me of Janie when she was around the same age.

Here’s the comparison:

IMG_8588

She was 8 days old and he is 5 days old today.  Yep, they’re definitely related.

IMG_8523

“Uh, hello? Can I speak to my cousin Thomas, please?”

IMG_8531

This was one of his rare awake moments today. Here’s the Jang scowl in full force.  His great grandmother would be proud.

IMG_8532

Ah…back to sleep.  He pretty much sleeps in any position you put him in.  I caught a rare sleeping smile.

He napped on this pillow for about an hour.  It’s part of our anti-flat-head program.
