Watch us grow!
We went to Thai Nakorn for dinner tonight for our annual Christmas Thai Feast with Mama’s cousins and kids. It was a smaller crowd this year with Uncle Pish out of town but we still had a good time.
We celebrated Peanut’s 3rd birthday with a big construction party. Auntie Jia caught him stealing from the snack table while we were setting up.
The party was complete with trucks, sand, and bubbles.
We had lots of family and friends over to celebrate and it was fun to have everyone together.
Peanut was so happy to see his construction birthday cake, which Mama decorated with Uncle Jason’s help.
Auntie Ranee, Uncle Jamie, Sophie, and Avia invited us over for a pool party. They had lawn chairs set-up in their driveway and the pool was just across the way.
It was sunny and warm in Walnut Creek, which was perfect for a day in the pool. Even Peanut got some pool time!
He enjoyed floating around in his personal floaty with sun shade.
Auntie Ishya and Uncle Billy brought Sadie and Theo over too and all the kids hung out in the pool and outside.
This photo makes it look like their at some kind of resort!
After everyone showered and changed, we hung out inside the house before heading home for nap time.
Peanut really liked Avia’s little piano.

We celebrated Janie’s 3rd birthday today at the Children’s Creativity Museum. It had a Nemo theme and Janie was so happy to see her favorite characters on the cupcakes and balloons.
Before the food arrived, all the kids (and grown-ups) spent time in the museum playing with foam dough.
There was also a craft table where the kids made rockets.
For lunch, we had Hawaiian food, veggies, and fruit. The Spam musubi disappeared in a flash.
After lunch, everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to Janie and she had a funny reaction to what happened after she blew out the candles.

Luckily Auntie Ishya caught the whole thing on video for us.
Janie chose a chocolate cupcake with a Nemo ring on top and had lots of frosting and cake on her face for the rest of the party.
In fact, all the kids LOVED the cake and each had blue frosting all over their faces.
I wasn’t sure if she would able to share the balloons we bought for the party but she did and actually handed some of them out to her friends.
Once the birthday party got packed up, we headed out to the carousel for a couple rides.
To burn off all the sugar, the kids went back inside for some more fun. They all played together on the slide and made a couple videos too.

The slide is green so that you can record yourself with a variety of backgrounds.
I’m amazed that we somehow managed to get all the kids together for a group photo.
Thanks for coming to the party, Friends! Hope you all had just as much fun as we did!!
We went to the SF Zoo this morning and met up with Sophie, Theo, and Sadie. The last time they all went to the zoo together was last February!!
These little monkeys loved “hanging around” the penguin pool.
Getting a photo of all four of them is nearly impossible.
Rounding them up to one place is like catching marbles on the floor.
Luckily we got a few photos of the 4 of them together.
After our picnic on the grass, all the kids went to play at the playground. I found Janie playing on the big kid swing and was holding on well enough for Daddy to push her higher than I’ve ever been willing to push her.
She also pretended to be a napping bird in this weird nest-like swing.
Before heading out, she watched the giraffe nearby at the exit.
Just minutes after getting into the car, it was lights out for her. What a fun morning!!
As if two parties wasn’t enough, Janie had one more birthday party today with her Bay Area friends and family. So many of her little friends came to celebrate!
Second cousins Theo and Sadie came up all the way from San Jose.
She had her afternoon snack with buddy Keenan and shared her sweet potato with him.
The cheeksters shared some puffs before going back to playing.
Jack helped Janie blow out her birthday candle.
Janie thoroughly enjoyed her cupcake!
OH BOY!
What a fun mess she made!!
She had fun with all her uncles and aunties. Uncle Ryan is funny.
Aw…so sweet. She gave a sideways huggy hug to Auntie Stephanie.
Buddy Rowan made an appearance and seemed to enjoy the cake too.
Zoe brought her folks, Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Eleen, to the party.
Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia also stopped by at the end of the party.
Look at all the presents she received today. What a lucky girl.
Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!
Janie went to brunch at a fancy place in Walnut Creek this morning with her pal Sophie and second cousins Sadie and Theo. They sat at the big table and enjoyed the complimentary fruit from the nice waitress. Look how well-behaved they look!
Afterward, we went to Sophie’s house to play. She has such a great selection of toys to play with! These kids move so quickly it’s hard to capture them all in one photo!
Janie also tried to keep up with Sadie and Theo on the stairs. There they go!
Janie also had her snack with Uncle Billy on the floor.
Great Aunt is in town from Thailand this weekend so we all met up at Auntie Ishya’s house in San Jose.
Janie was so excited to play with all of Sadie and Theo’s toys.
We attempted to get a photo of all three rugrats together and this is the best I got.
Things are very different from the first time they met.
There was some confusion at work the other day when people were telling me that the twins and Janie are actually 3rd cousins and not 2nd cousins. Hm. They were telling me I had it all wrong so of course I looked it up. Found this cool chart to clear things up. Janie, Theo, and Sadie ARE second cousins!! Janie and Ishya are first cousins once removed. Got it! I think I had it right the first time. Thanks, Wikipedia!
Today Janie went to Sophie’s 1st Birthday Party. Here’s group photo of her with Theo, Sadie, and Sophie (pictured left to right). It’s going to be so cool to have them all in the same grade together.
Janie also got to see some of her aunties from Mommy’s work. This is Janie and Sophie with Auntie Karen.
Happy Birthday, Sophie!!
Janie went to Sadie and Theo’s house today for their One Year Birthday Party. It was nearly impossible to get them to sit next to each other long enough for a photo. This was the best I could do. And yes, Janie is 5 months younger but just about the same size. In fact, she already weighs more than Sadie who is the bigger of the two. Heh heh.
