I took Janie to South Park this afternoon and she had fun on the swing.

Rolling back and forth!
The day has finally come! Janie started rolling from her back to her tummy tonight and thought it would be fun to roll back and forth too. She’s rolling from her tummy to her back in the direction opposite of what she could already do so that’s another milestone there too! Way to go!

Straw Cup
I introduced Janie to a straw cup today. On her first try, she didn’t know what it was so she just chewed on it. So then I used a regular straw with the contents pipetted into her mouth so she could understand that she’s supposed to suck on it to get water. On her second try, she got it right away and started sucking! Genius. The handles were perfect for her to hold onto and she was a pro by the third try. Oh Kumquat, you make your mama so proud.

Puffs
Sophie shared her puffs with Janie last weekend and they’ve been a hit. This afternoon I wanted to see if she could pick it up and put it in her mouth by herself and she did!! Woohoo! This OT mama is so proud!

New Ride
My co-worker had this ladybug exersaucer for her granddaughter who has outgrown it so she gave it to us.
I was reminded by my dear PT friends that she needs to be tall enough to have her feet flat on the floor instead of on her tiptoes and it fits perfectly.
I even got it on video to show you what she’s doing with her hands, her feet, and her mouth. It’s like a 3-in-1 toy! Janie was super chatty this morning. I guess she had a lot to say about her new ride. Click here if you can’t see the video above.
Before Bed
Janie loves to stare at her mobile before going to sleep. Today she sat up and watched them instead of lying on her back.
It was really cute how she would keep looking back over her shoulder to check if I was still there.

Barnes and Noble
This morning, I took Janie to Barnes and Noble to hang out with her soul sister Sophie.
Sophie’s crawling now but Janie can sit on her own now to play with the toys too. Janie even tried to grab onto Sophie’s pants as she crawled away.
They took over the Children’s section with their toys and antics. As usual, they were so much fun to watch. Janie’s become more interested in what Sophie’s doing and watches everything she does.
Apparently Janie is just as entertaining for Sophie.
