Watch us grow!

With Big Sis at school, the house was unusually quiet and still.

This little guy was sleeping most of the day and only woke up for a few minutes at a time before falling back asleep.

The drive home was super quick. Hospital was only a mile from home.

Janie was so happy to see her family back home again. She also asked, “did you bring Peanut?!”

Here he is in his new bed. So tiny still.

Janie couldn’t wait to snuggle her baby brother and remembered that she was supposed to wash her hands before touching him. She was also very eager to help change his diaper. She also kept saying, “I want to rock him!” I guess we’re gonna need a little rocker for him.

Before bed, she gave him a big hug and a kiss. Before today, she had been reluctant to give him a kiss. She also learned how to offer him the pacifier instead of just trying to push it into his mouth.

His nails are super long even after we cut them so he needed a sock on his hand.

Good night, little guy. We hope you don’t keep Mama up all night again.

Once we got our discharge papers, it was time to get Peanut into the outfit that his big sister picked out for him. It was very appropriate since Tiger was her second name for him.

“Rawr!” He definitely inherited his great grandmother’s scowl.

Here’s the full outfit. So cute…

Once again, I’ve got a picture of Daddy with a grouchy baby going home.

He looked so small in the carseat.

Time to go home!!

Bye bye, hospital!!

Last night, this kid was a hungry hungry hippo. Kept me up pretty much all night with tiny cat naps in between. I basically kept him in bed with me all night and I discovered he preferred to be propped up by a pillow in the corner of my bed.

So, after his 5 am weight check and a feeding, he was finally out for the count and I got a nap too.

We also had to prepare him for his circumcision at 2pm. He was allowed to eat up to 12:15 and then was cut off from feeding until the procedure. So, the pacifier had to come out and he loved it. This was one of the rare moments when his eyes were open and he was alert.

He also continued to nap until the nurse came to get him. There he is in the corner of my bed again. And that was Dada’s spot for the past 2 days.

At 2:15 pm, the nurse came to get him and Mama got to accompany him. He was swaddled tightly and given a pacifier with sugar water drops to keep him calm. He slept through most of the procedure and braved it like a champ. This is him being wheeled back to the room by Mama. Afterward, he ate for 24 minutes, he fell asleep again. This baby definitely has his days and nights reversed. I better rest up for a busy night.

Today was filled with excitement for this little boy. It started out quiet with Yai. He was super alert and just hung out with her.

He later chatted with Ta over FaceTime and would turn to the screen each time Ta would say something. Maybe he likes his low voice.

Around lunch, Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason arrived and met him for the first time. Toni and Thomas were also here but they were either sleeping or eating. We’ll get a cousin photo next time.

Ama and Ankong also flew in last night and came to meet their newest grandson.

This is a big year for the Lao Family!

Uncle Bang and Auntie Vyl also stopped by to meet him in the afternoon.

He was much sleepier by then.

Here he is with his new buddy Rowan.

Auntie Teresa also came to say “hello” to him. I can’t wait for him to be big enough to follow Henry around.

Last night was surprisingly calm. Peanut slept most of the night and I had to wake him up to feed. My milk was started to come in at the 1am feeding and he was pretty satisfied after that. I actually overslept until 6am before I realized I needed to feed him again. Again, he was still snoozing and I had to wake him.

The morning was spent mostly with Dada and slept so comfortably on his chest.

Meanwhile, someone from the nursery came to do his hearing screening and he was able to stay asleep for the test. He passed! Hooray for being able to hear!

After another feeding, he took a nap with Mama in the bed. It was good to have him rest before the arrival of his big sister later in the morning.

Look at those giant feet!

After a late night (7/30), long morning, and arduous afternoon, Peanut made his appearance into the world on 7/31/15 at 5:40pm. Sorry, we haven’t agreed on his name yet. Stay tuned for that.

He weighs a whopping 8 lbs 12 oz and we don’t have a length just yet. Just like his big sister, he made pushing harder on Mama by having his hand up against his cheek.

He arrived hungry, pooping (3 diapers in the first 2 hours!), and with two dimples and a full head of hair. We are so happy to have him as the 4th member of our little family.

Here he is at almost 4 hours old…so alert!

After Mama’s medical appointment, we took the train straight to the mall for lunch.

The train ride home was crowded because of the day game but Janie was comfy in her stroller with the milk that Mama bought for her at the store.

With a full tummy, a nice warm bath, and some antihistamine for the multiple mosquito bites from last night, she was out for a long nap. Poor baby has 4 bites on just her face alone. I think she got at least 10 bites total last night. Hopefully this warm weather will subside soon so we can sleep with the windows closed again. We even put up mosquito netting over the open window but I guess one sneaky skeeter snuck in last night.

Dada wasn’t done with the book when we found her asleep already. I guess that’s what happens after an exciting, fun-filled day without a nap.
