Day with Mommy

IMG_8787

Daddy went to a class today so Janie and Mommy had a day of shopping and exploring together.  We took our usual walk to the Farmers’ Market for breakfast and this is how Janie stayed close among the crowd.  She “holds the yellow” any time she is out of the stroller.  It’s working well so far.

There were lots of performers out today and Janie asked to listen to the famous drum guy in front of the clock tower.

On the way to Union Square, Janie talked on her GG phone and told Daddy about all the things he was missing out on today.

On our way home, we passed the Disney Store and went inside to say “hello” to Olaf.

Janie asked to get out of the stroller and managed to hug every Olaf she saw at her level.  Here she is helping him say “hi” to Mommy.

Then she spotted the Elsa and Anna dolls.

She decided to take down this Anna doll for a closer look.

Before heading home, we made a pit stop at the Family Lounge inside the mall.  They have a Janie-sized toilet there where she also took a Janie-sized poop.  What a big girl.

When we got home, she must have been exhausted because she was in the middle of lecturing Big GG when she fell asleep for her nap.

Once the blanket was moved out from under her, she straightened out and slept for 2 1/2 hours!

After her nap, she did some drawing.  She called these “flowers”.

First Day of Daycare

IMG_6707

Janie had her first day of daycare, which we’ve been calling school for her.  She was so excited to leave with Mommy and put her backpack on with such joy.

IMG_6719

She sang in the car during the whole car ride and happily got out if the car and walked to the front door.

IMG_6715

We were the first to arrive (on purpose) and we put her stuff away in a cubby labeled with her name. It’s the black one on the top left corner.

IMG_6717

Inside, she warmed up to the playroom and went straight for the big bin of balls. Mommy stayed for about 20 minutes as she watched other kids arrive and their parents said “goodbye”. That’s when she started to get the gist was what was about to happen so she stayed close and kept one hand on Mommy’s leg at all times.

Eventually she was able to relax and sit down for breakfast. Slowly the other kids joined her and she was distracted enough for mommy to leave. She cried as soon as she realized Mommy wasn’t coming back and she spent some time in a stroller they had at the house.  She even took an early nap in the stroller.  I don’t know what she ate for lunch but I do know that she pooped in a potty and had some milk, grapes, and cherry tomatoes.  She also didn’t need GG all day.

This is what she looked like when I picked her up.  She was happy to see Mommy and had so much to talk about on the way home.

On the shuttle, Janie was too tired to look out the window.

IMG_3562

In fact, she fell asleep sitting up…just like her mommy tends to do.

IMG_3566

At the airport, we had some lunch.  Janie got more noodles and some veggies too!

Keenan is riding on the same plane again.  Fun!

IMG_3568

Janie did a great job on the flight home.  Having her own seat really helped.

IMG_3574

Unfortunately, she had a diaper malfunction and a little tummy trouble mid-way through the flight so we had to change her clothes.  Luckily, she was fine for the last couple hours and even took a nice long nap too.

Toilet Paper

toilet paper

We’re not quite toilet training yet but I’ve put her on the regular toilet seat a few times when she’s pushing and it seems to help.  So I bought this seat for her and it fits nicely.  In the meantime, I found Janie in the bathroom (again!) and caught her doing this.  I was wondering when she would discover this fun toy.

Mommy & Me Day #3

stroller snack

Janie loves having a little snack during our afternoon walk with Koa.  It was rice cakes and honey bunny grahams.  Yum!

She’s such a cutie pie.

pooping

We did, however, have a little hiccup in our evening.  She was trying really hard to poop and needed a little help.  So, I sat her on the toilet and it worked.  She had a GIANT poop.  Hooray!  What a relief.

Only one more day until Daddy returns from his conference in Colorado!
