After the initial drop-off, Janie doesn’t usually need GG so he sits in Tia (Auntie) Irma’s pocket all day. At the end of the day, Janie always makes sure to go back and find GG in the pocket again.

Watch us grow!

Alice stays with Ta and Yai when Uncle Johnny and Auntie Joy go to work. This morning, she got dropped off and Janie got to keep her company.

This evening, Janie went to party in Castro Valley with Mommy and her work friends. During the drive, she talked about Baby Vivian and Baby Henry. When we arrived, she was a little shy at first but they all warmed up to each other fairly quickly. There’s nothing like a good tea party to break the ice!

She had fun hanging out with fellow cheeksters Vivian and Henry.

She sat out on the deck with Vivian while drinking her water.

Later Henry joined in and just wanted to give Janie lots and lots of “besitos” (kisses).

Look at this boy! He’s very persistent.

Janie then noticed the big kids, Kyle and Alani playing down below on the grass.

She went down to join them and she got to kick the soccer ball around for a bit.

She also got a few bites of chocolate cake while sitting next to Alani. What a special treat!

At the end of the night as we were saying our goodbyes, these two got in a quick smooch. It was very sweet but I don’t think Daddy approves of such behaviors.

Janie turned 28 months today and it has been a big month of changes. The most significant change is that that she started Day Care 2 days per week. Although it has been hard on both Janie and Mommy, the change is good and commuting with her has been nice. Another change is that she has become a full-fledged toddler with lots of strong opinions and wants to do everything on her own. She started to fight bedtime and makes up every excuse in the book to stay up longer. Just the other night, she stood in her bed and screamed “POOPOO IN THE TOILET!!” over and over and over again. She finally settled down on her own after 45 minutes of protesting. We also foresee some struggles with GG being detached from the pacifier. It fell off today and although the nipple has been cut down all the way, she still looks for the green part that remains. We will see how the next few nights go without it.

Here are some other things that happened this past month:
Luckily, this kid is super cute and has enough charm to get us through the tough times. Happy 24 28 months, Big Girl!!
After a weekend with Alice, Janie got first-hand experience in the concept of sharing. Unfortunately, she was not a fan of the activity and quickly learned the meaning and power of saying “MINE!” Well, on our way home from Monterey, we stopped by Keenan’s house for a bit and Janie got a crash course in sharing/taking turns. I think it went ok for the first run-through. I also think Keenan was a bit confused by Janie’s reluctance to share his toys.

I love our play dates with Andrew and Auntie Holly.

Janie warmed up quickly and the two of them played and shared snacks together like long-time buddies.

First they had Os.

Then they had mandarin oranges. Janie was nice enough to feed Andrew the slices.

Then Andrew shared some of his quinoa lunch.
Here they are at the end of the evening as we were saying our goodbyes. They were so into giving each other hugs. SO CUTE!!! Sorry for all the squealing in the background.
