Counting in Spanish a video by beakatude on Flickr.
This evening I overhead Janie saying “uno, dos” over and over again. So I grabbed the camera and started recording. She’s learning so much!!
Watch us grow!

Janie practiced her Do-Re-Me song before bed this evening. She has learned all the notes to this song this week and has been consistently singing Do-Re-Me on her own. All the other notes need prompting but she’s getting it.
Janie’s favorite animal is the giraffe (duh!) and since she still gets so excited to see them in books and videos, we thought it would be appropriate to take her back to the zoo to visit her very tall pals. When we arrived, she immediately spotted on in the distance and reached her hand through the fence as if she could touch it. And of course, she yelled out “GG!”
She also wore her giraffe shirt since she’s a super fan.
She also discovered curbs recently. Stairs are old news.
Curbs are so hot right now.
At dinner on Friday, Janie was coloring and I asked for the blue crayon and she gave me the correct one. I thought it was just luck but I tried it again and she was able to identify blue AND red correctly. She’s been reading a colors book with Daddy every morning and I guess she’s learning from it!
So far, blue, red, and orange are pretty consistent. Green and yellow are still hard for her. When we opened her colors book, I was surprised to see that she knew purple too! Thanks for the book, Auntie Stephanie!!
Janie had Daddy’s pasta tonight and it had bacon, chicken, and peas. She tried to say those words but instead we got a big hodge podge of language.
If you listen carefully, she’s making little car sounds in between the stop and gos. She’s a speedy little car, isn’t she?
Janie and Mommy went to the mall to today after work. We took Muni and Janie was extra-excited to ride the train. Now that she understands what a train is and that the doors open and shut just like in her “Wheels on the Bus” song. Each time we stopped, the door opened, and she happily signed “open”.
Then as people entered the train, she would wave and say “hi” to anyone who would make eye contact with her.
Janie played with her foam letters on the window today.
I caught her talking and having a good time by herself. It sounds like she’s trying to say “stick” when she puts one on the window.
With a little water, these foam letters magically stick to the window.
It’s funny how she will say “bravo!” and clap for herself after she’s finished doing something.
Dada is sick today so we all had sick-people food for dinner tonight. Janie LOVES her boop (soup), doodoos (noodles), and googas (cucumbers/pickles).
It’s another Christmas gift!
Janie is a pro at unwrapping now.
