Christmas Tree!!

img_9427

This evening, we went to pick out a Christmas tree at the lot down the street. We picked another 3-foot tree and Janie helped us choose a good one.

img_9435

I tried to get a photo of the kids together but this was the best I could do.

img_9431

This guy won’t stay still long enough to get a photo lately.

Our little girl decorated the tree and all the ornaments started out at Peanut’s height.

With a little rearranging from Mama, the tree was all decorated for the season! Good job, KK!

Aloha outfits

img_8968

Mama bought the kids some outfits to wear together and this was the best photo we could get of them together.

Day at Aulani

img_8721

This morning, we drove 45 minutes north to Disney Aulani Resort. They are situated on a public beach/lagoon so we got to try it out.

The lagoon was super shallow and Janie had such a good time playing in the water.

For lunch, we ate at ‘Ama ‘Ama Restaurant. The kids each got their own water cup, which made Peanut very happy.

Janie ordered a kid’s meal and it came with an ice cream sundae complete with Mickey-shaped sprinkles and a cherry on top.

img_8759

We found the statue of Stitch and the kids did a good job posing with him.

Although we weren’t allowed in the Lazy River or resort pool, it was still fun to explore the grounds.

Walking Home

img_8395

The kids decided that they wanted to walk back to the house. It was slow-going but Janie and Toni made it all the way home while Peanut made it halfway, and Thomas got a ride for most of the way.

Once we got back to the house, it was lunchtime for the toddlers. Looks like a daycare in here!

South Beach Harbor Playground

dsc_8024

Janie and Peanut took their cousins to their local playground. It was the perfect toddler playground for the tykes to explore.

Janie also conquered her fear of climbing to to the top of the climbing structure. Yay!

Toni tried to copy her and figured out how to get her leg up and over the rope.

dsc_8029

We also brought Janie’s soccer ball and the twins had fun chasing it around and sometimes fighting over it.

Thomas also figured out how to climb over the short wall. It took a bit of problem-solving but he got it!

Peanut also gave it a try but never made it over.

Light-up Night

img_8028

It’s that time of year again! Every year, on the Friday before Thanksgiving, we go to the Embarcadero Center to watch them light up the buildings and shoot off fireworks overhead. Auntie Stepanie and Vivian also went with us.

img_8035

img_8032

Peanut was a little scared when it got really loud.

img_8065

img_8137

After the fireworks, we had some ice cream from the shop next to us.

img_8068

Even Peanut got some ice cream!

img_8062

img_8078

After ice cream, we walked next door to the Hyatt to see the tree.  They used to do a lighting ceremony in the atrium but the new owners decided to discontinue that tradition. We were pretty bummed. At least we got a cute family photo in front of the tree.

Before heading home, we went to the patio at Sens to check out the view and hang out for just a bit longer.

What a fun evening!

Aquarium

img_7866

Janie asked to go to the aquarium today so that’s what we did. In the tunnel, she said “hello” to the scuba diver.

img_7875

We got there when it opened for members only so it was nice and empty for the kids to see the fish.

img_7876

img_7905

Peanut had fun wandering around on his own and there was so much to see and touch.

One of his favorite things to do was swiping his finger on the iPad displays.

img_7910

In the middle of the day, we stopped for a snack outside on the patio.

img_7920

When we went back inside, Peanut walked along the sting ray and shark exhibit.

https://youtu.be/UqZ7USomSMA

He’s so different from his big sister who was so scared to walk over the round windows looking over the water. Peanut didn’t even notice and walked right over them.

Here he is getting up off the floor and making some fast pivots in different directions. This walking thing is getting pretty easy for him.

img_7930

For lunch, we went down the street to Pacific Catch and had a preview of the tasty food we’re going to have in Hawaii. Janie and Mama shared a poke trio with seaweed salad – Janie’s favorite!

img_7934

Then we stopped for soft serve on the way back to Golden Gate Park.

img_7939

The kids also got to play around the Japanese Tea Garden before heading back to the car.
