one last dip

IMG_4775

We definitely made the most of our stay at the Sheraton Waikiki on this trip.  I think we went in the pool every single day we were here – including this morning!

IMG_4776

We went in for one last dip in the pool as a family and got all the kids together at one time!

IMG_4762

How cute are they?!?!

IMG_4771

IMG_4774

Thanks to Jamie (Sophie’s dad), we got a group photo of the whole family.  I love that you can see all our faces at once.

What a fun vacation!!!  We can’t wait to go back again!

pool time

DCIM100GOPRO

We spent most of the day at the pool today.  Janie started out in the pool with Dada and Uncle Jason.

IMG_4527

She also tried going down the little slide on her own!  It started out with someone at the top to watch her and then another person at the bottom to catch her.

Very quickly, she became more confident and would go through the upper pool and then down the slide all on her own.  No one needed to help her and no one needed to catch her. We got a video of both girls going together and Sophie was so cute giving Janie props for taking the slide on her own.

Here’s a video of Janie earlier in the day when Dada tried to convince her to take the big slide.

North Shore

IMG_4397

Today, we went to North Shore with Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia.

IMG_4403

We went to Laniakea Beach (aka Turtle Beach) but all the turtles were surfing in the big waves instead of napping on the beach like they usually do.

IMG_4407

After the beach, we ate lunch at the shrimp trunk and then headed to Matsumoto for Shave Ice.

IMG_4409

This girl was so happy and ate her fair share of shave ice and the ice cream underneath.

IMG_4415

IMG_4420

She also scored a smushed penny from the store inside.

IMG_4422

Somewhere along the way, Janie acquired some sticks and played with them in the car on our way to the Dole Plantation.

IMG_4434

Instead of paying lots of money for the train ride, we opted for a handful of fish food and watch the koi fight over the food.

The kids also posed for some pictures.

IMG_4456

No visit to the Dole Plantation would be complete without some Dole Whip!

IMG_4460

Peanut scored his very own Matsumoto Shave Ice shirt and it was a good thing we bought it because he had a blowout right after we bought it.

IMG_4463

What a fun and exciting day!  This is how Janie fell asleep tonight.  So sweet.

They’ve arrived!

IMG_4353

This afternoon, Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason arrived!

Uncle Jason tried out a new calming technique on Peanut.  I think it was more confusing than calming.

IMG_4359

We went out for dinner and Peanut borrowed Toni and Thomas’ spinning toy.

IMG_4361

The toy was nice but he was more interested in looking at himself in the camera.

Belated Thanksgiving

IMG_3601

Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia returned from Seattle yesterday so we postponed Thanksgiving dinner to today.  They came over and the kids all played on the floor together while Dada was making the turkey.

IMG_3626

Janie made the crescent rolls on her own today and helped herself to one while dinner was getting finished up.  The chef has to taste her food, right?!

IMG_3625

I think Peanut wanted one too.

IMG_3618

All the kids sat at the table today in celebration of the babies’ first Thanksgiving.  Toni and Thomas brought their feeder seats and had avocado!!  Yum.

IMG_3627

 Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Dinner with the Family

IMG_3262

The cousins came over this afternoon and the babies had Tummy Time together.

IMG_3263

IMG_3265

Why does Peanut look so huge?!  Oh wait, because HE IS!

IMG_3269

We also went out for an early dinner in Chinatown.   At the end of the meal, the twins were getting their bottles, Janie got a story with Dada, Uncle Jason checked his email, and Peanut played with his blanket.

Celebrating

IMG_2616

This evening, we all went out to eat to celebrate Uncle Jason’s birthday!  Peanut was such a good boy and quietly sat on our laps and even took a nap in the banquette.  He woke up in time for the birthday song and dessert.

Ferry back to Vancouver

IMG_1965

This morning we checked out of the big cabin and piled into the minivan with our stuff.

IMG_1970

At the ferry terminal, we waited in line to board and Peanut hung out with Mama in the backseat.

IMG_1974

We got to park on the upper deck and then went upstairs to enjoy the view and eat some Tim Bits.

Davis Bay Wharf

IMG_1886

In the afternoon after all the babies woke up from their naps, we all got in the car and drove down to the coast.  Peanut was intrigued by the ketchup chips that Dada bought.

IMG_1890

We stopped for lunch at a small cafe and Janie got some potato leek soup.

IMG_1913

The water was so clear here at Davis Bay Wharf!

IMG_1895

IMG_1902

The babies were sleeping so this is the best we could do for a group photo.

IMG_1906

Janie rode on Uncle Jason’s shoulders for a good part of our time on the wharf.

IMG_1917

Peanut eventually woke up so we got some photos taken with him.
