We drove down to Cerritos last night starting at 7 pm and arrived by 2:30 am. The kids slept most of the way and when we got to Yai and Ta’s house, Janie went straight to bed and Peanut was up and ready to play. Thankfully, Ta was up too and hung out with him until it was time to go to bed.
helping in the yard
Janie helped Ta in the backyard today.
She got to see a dragon fruit still on the tree.
She was very excited to show Mama the tiny baby leaves growing in some of the pots.
She also picked her own pomegranate from Ta’s tree.
Ta also plucked a plumeria off another tree and put it behind Janie’s ear. So pretty!
Mickey’s Halloween Party
We went to Disneyland for Mickey’s Halloween Party this evening. Uncle Johnny got us all tickets and everyone was so excited!!
Peanut had a really fun time on the tram ride over to the park. This little boy was SO ready for more rides.
Uncle Johnny brought his lightsabers and the girls went for them right away.
Our first mission of the night was to get all the way to Toon Town for the pre-party.
There was a bit of a wait before the party so we spent some time hanging out in front of It’s a Small World.
We dressed up as Stich, Nani, Lilo, and David (not pictured). Dada was busy getting us a big fried turkey leg.
The girls scored a big bag of popcorn and were grinning from ear to ear.
Once the party started, the girls went to the Trick or Treat stops and picked up some candy.

Then they visited Donald and Mickey for autographs and photos.
Janie was willing to get autographs but she wanted to keep her distance from each of the characters.
Peanut’s favorite ride was Dumbo.
He loved feeling the wind in his face and watching the lights and the rest of the world spinning.

If you listen carefully, you can hear him say “wow”.
Meanwhile, Janie went on the carousel with Dada.
By about 9pm, Janie and Peanut was asleep but Alice powered through a few more rides and lots of pictures with the princesses.
What a fun night!!
Dim Sum Date
We drove straight to Royal Garden from the airpot for dim sum with all of KK and Peanut’s uncles, aunties, and cousins.
We had been looking forward to this weekend for a very long time and it was so nice to see everyone.
Peanut got right to work on lunch and tried using a fork on his own today.
He had such a good time poking and eating on his own.
Look how popular Auntie Jia was today.
Janie was so happy to see her cousins Alice and Toni.
At one points, all 5 kids were at the fountain together but it was pretty impossible to get them to stay in one place and look at the camera at once.
This was the perfect way to kick off the long weekend and we had a satisfying meal after a long morning of travel.
all smiles
We had one last morning in Cerritos before flying back to SF. Alice came over and the cousins were all smiles.
This was the best photo we could get of all three cousins smiling in the picture with Ta and Yai.
Janie and Alice also had a fun time together. At one point, they were both in the pack n play together.
Glad to see that they enjoy each other’s company more and more each time we get together.
One more birthday party!!
In the evening, we had another celebration for the birthday boy. It was at Royal Garden, which is where Mama and Dada had their wedding banquet and big sister’s 1st birthday dinner.
It was quite a feast and we finished the night with another cake. And once again, the little guy did NOT want any cake. Seriously!? Who is this kid?!
Janie chose to sit at the other table with Auntie Jia and had her photo taken by one of her aunties at the table.
Thanks to Ankong for the dinner!! Peanut had a great time!
Fun at Cerritos Mall

Too cool off from the heat, we went to Cerritos Mall.
The kids had a fun time playing on the riding toys.
Even Peanut got to drive his first car. 🙂
We also stopped at the pet store for Peanut to visit the puppies.
Peanut’s 1st Birthday
This little boy turned ONE today and we celebrated with a little party with the family.
He wore his birthday shirt and had a fun time with the whole family.
Uncle Kenneth brought water balloons and the girls had a fun time in the front yard.
Meanwhile, the cousins were reunited and played together.
Doesn’t he look so cute in between his two grandfathers?!
His favorite part of the party was lunch. We ordered Thai food and he gobbled up handfuls of noodles and watermelon.

Our baby hippo had a little hippo candle on his cake.
There was singing and lots of crying when it was cake time.
I’m not sure how I got a smile out of him because he cried through the birthday song and didn’t want anything to do with his cake.
Big sister Janie blew out the candle for him and enjoyed her own piece of cake with Auntie Jia.
Happy 1st Birthday, Baby Boy!
Cerritos Farmer’s Market
The kids were up early with Ta this morning.
They went outside to watch Yai watering the plants.
We also went to the local Farmer’s Market and picked up some pluots, nectarines, and Hulapop!!
Uncle Johnny ran from home to meet us there and the breakfast hotdog was delicious.
Peanut had his cereal in the stroller and then took a nap while Mama walked him back to the house.
Cerritos
We flew from Oakland to Long Beach this morning and the kids were entertained with their Cheerios while we waited to board the plane.
Ta picked us up and it was a hot, humid day in Southern California. We stayed in the house until it was time for lunch.
We went out for Thai food and Alice and Auntie Joy joined us there.
While Mommy waited for the check, the kids went outside to run around. Peanut hung out on Yai’s lap in the shade.
Back at the house, Peanut stripped down to his diaper because it was so hot. He had a cold tasty bottle of milk and then spent the rest of the afternoon playing with big sister and cousin Alice.
The girls had a fun time together today and the fighting was kept to a minimum.
