Watch us grow!
With a rough morning of protests at home (didn’t want to wear shoes), we went to Oakland to do a little shopping and to pick up some lunch and treats for Mama’s friends.
We had lunch with Auntie Ranee, Auntie Stephanie, and Auntie Teresa again in the outpatient center. She didn’t eat much but had fun with her colored pencils and stickers.
When we got home, again, she didn’t want to take a nap. So, she quietly played with her farm stickers.
Janie went to another birthday party today. This time it was in Walnut Creek at Heather Farm Park, which has a really cool playground. We got there a bit early to hang out with Vivian who was getting her picture taken for Christmas cards.
They played next to each other on the swings and Vivian followed Janie up the stairs and down the slides.
During the family photo shoot, Janie photobombed a photo by running into the background and waving. She was so proud. This is one of the outtakes.
Once again, there was pizza! Boy, this kid got to eat well this weekend!
Instead of cupcakes, Sophie had a big mountain of donuts!! So, Janie got her first taste of chocolate donut with sprinkles. Being the savory kid that she is, she ended up taking two nibbles and then calling it a day.
They had a pinata and Janie had no idea what she was supposed to do. She just tapped the pinata three times and was done. After all the kids got their turns, everyone pulled the strings on the bottom, which made all the candy come out.
Janie scored a lollipop and was so happy.

The rest of the party was spent playing on all the fun structures. She really liked climbing on all the ladders and steps.

She also discovered the big grassy mounds that you can slide down with cardboard sleds. She caught on quickly and had fun with her 2nd cousins Theo and Sadie.

Today is Mommy’s birthday and in preparation for the dinner party, Janie helped out with buying food and supplies for hot pot. Here is her bouquet of spoons.
She liked them so much that she almost didn’t give them up when it came time to pay for them. Luckily she did just long enough for the lady to scan them.
When it was time for dinner, Janie ate lots of rice, meat, and mushrooms.
She also got to hang out with her aunties and Baby Avia.
The best part was helping Mommy blow out her candles. Good job, KK!
After school, Janie went to Lake Temescal to meet up with Mommy’s friends for a run.
Weeee!
After the run, she blowed bubbles while everyone did some exercises.
Then she tagged along for some yummy Indian food.
The next stop was Ici for ice cream and Janie shared her stroller with pal Henry.
She got her very own cone with coconut passionfruit sorbet. Yum!
The Cheeksters had a lunch date today. It was the first time their newest member, Vivian, was able to join them.
The girls had their lunch with Mommy, Auntie Ranee, and Auntie Stephanie while Baby Viv took a long nap.
When they were done eating, Janie and Sophie compared and exchanged Magna Doodles.

They’re really starting to interact with each other now.
Once they traded, it was like each of them had a brand new toy. Funny girls!
After lunch, we stopped at CREAM. Janie was offered a little bite of cookie but she refused it. Oh well. She had her chance!!
We sat on a bench and hung out until it was time for everyone to go home and take a nap.
Janie sat on Auntie Stephanie’s lap for a bit and Vivian actually started to get a little jealous.

Janie met her newest friend, Vivian. We went to Auntie Stephanie’s house this morning and Janie seemed a little confused by her squeaking little friend.
I think she had more fun just hanging out with Auntie Stephanie and Uncle Nathan.
Janie went to watch her aunties and uncles play in the annual wheelchair basketball tournament today. She had a fun time riding on Tia Patty’s lap while she spun around in her wheelchair.
Then she got to ride on the wheelchair and play with a basketball. We took a photo of her last year when she was only 3 weeks old (last May). My my, how she’s grown!
She witnessed the team’s first championship win and was included in the team photo.
Afterward, she joined the celebration and got to taste some of Auntie Stephanie’s tortilla chips. In return she shared her piggy.
This morning, Janie introduced Uncle Nathan to dim sum for the first time.
Afterward, Janie got to roam around the fountain area with her gal pal Sophie.
Janie was a little scared of the fountain at first but eventually warmed up to it.
It’s fun to see the two toddlers next to each other. Sophie’s gait is so much more refined than Janie’s.
This is Janie’s more advanced version of walking. She’s so proud of being able to walk and clap at the same time.
Janie went to Auntie Stephanie’s Baby Shower today. She can’t wait to meet little baby Osborne!
She had a good time exploring and hanging out with all her aunties.

Auntie Stephanie came over this afternoon and Janie got to show off some of her new tricks. She can’t wait for Baby Osborne to be born so she can teach him/her how to make trouble. Heh heh.
