Dinner for Mama’s Birthday


After swim, we celebrated Mama’s birthday at a Japanese restaurant nearby. The last time we had teppanyaki, Peanut was only 5 months old and dprobably slept through most of the show.

Today, he had a good view of the cooking and got a little scared of the fire.


Janie got a giant plate of shrimp and veggies, which she loved.


We got a family photo at the end of the meal, which is rare for us lately.


For dessert, we walked across the street to CREAM for ice cream. Yum!

On our walk back to the car, Peanut serenaded Mama with “You Are My Sunshine”.

Celebrating Innovation

Janie had a special event at her school this evening. To kick it off, she sang 3 songs with her fellow Kindergarteners and the 1st graders.

She was really into it and did a great job singing and doing all the hand motions.

After the performance, we went around to some classrooms to learn about different innovators such as Eli Whitney and Jane Goodall. The 5th graders were each assigned an innovator, dressed up like the person, and gave us lots of fun facts about them.
