Watch us grow!

Here are the kids on the “milk mat” again.

We had some extra time to kill before heading out for a birthday party so the kids had a little tea party in the livingroom.

Afterward, Peanut continued to play and was cooking up a tasty salad and sauteed veggies.

It’s Sunday evening and we had some shopping to do at Costco.

While Dada made dinner, Janie worked on a Christmas project.

She made a wreath to hang underneath the lights we hung in her room.

After dinner, the kids hung out together and were a little cuckoo.

After the pool, we all went out to the ocean one last time. Peanut was so happy to be floating in the waves again.

Janie also learned how to float today so she held Dada’s hand and floated with him like a pair of sea otters.

After the beach, the girls got ice cream. Janie really deserved this treat after conquering her fear of the big slide and learning how to float.

Aaaaah…so happy.

We had lunch at Duke’s today.

Mama ordered the buffet lunch so Peanut had plenty of kalua pork, rice, and teriyaki chicken to eat.

He also had at least 4 watermelon wedges.

Janie had quite a few of her own.

And take a look at this sneaky face. He just learned how to do this on this trip.

He thinks he’s so funny when he does it.

We had dim sum for lunch today and these two kids had very similar expressions while they ate.

Janie helped Mama make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies this evening. She learned how to squeeze the dough out of the disher.

Then she added some extra chocolate chips to make the cookies extra yummy.

The hardest part of baking is waiting for the cookies to cook in the oven. In the first batch, the cookies were too big and some of the cookies were touching when they were done. We made the cookies in the second batch smaller and while she watched them cooking, she said “these cookies look good and they have personal space!” That made Mama chuckle.

When the cookies were cooled, Janie got to eat one all on her own.

This is one happy little baker.

Lately, Janie has been making “crazy eyes” when she’s feeling silly. She learned it from one of her friends at school. It just makes her look like a cartoon.

We had lunch at Hog Island Oyster Co. today. Ever since soccer started, we hadn’t been going to the Farmers Market. The kids did a great job waiting patiently in line and then were treated to a feast once we got seated.

Today, Peanut figured out how to suck the contents out of a squeeze pouch and it came in handy at the restaurant.

Janie wanted Mama to take funny photos of her at the table. This is one of them.

And there’s her smile! So much better.

What a fun lunch at one of our favorite places!!

Auntie Eleen’s store is 7 years old and we went to their celebration this evening. Janie made a mouse at the craft table and then picked out a shirt for herself.

She also did some coloring at another table.

Meanwhile, this guy was wandering between the two stores and the walkway in between. He’s loving his new ability to get around on his feet.

I bet he’s thinking “this walking stuff is great!!”
