Shave Ice

Auntie Amy, Uncle Jay, Amelia, and Ellie were flying back to Vancouver today so we had some shave ice before they had to head out to the airport.

Janie got pineapple and lychee and Peanut got strawberry and lilikoi.

Back at the hotel, the kids said their goodbyes and gave hugs. We will miss them but hope to see them again soon!!

Flying to Hawaii!

This morning, we got up early, took the bus to the airport, and hopped on a plane to Hawaii! The kids played on their iPads and did some homework too.

Peanut practiced writing his name and drew a picture of Dada.

Peanut took a nice long nap while Janie played her Pokemon game.

The flight took almost 6 hours but the kids did great!

At the airport, Dada and Janie went to get the rental car while Peanut and Mama picked up the stroller and carseat from baggage claim. Peanut found a pay phone and asked “what’s that?!”

We’re finally ready to start our vacation!!

Lighted Boat Parade

This evening, we hopped on the Alameda Ferry to ride in the Lighted Boat Parade! We brought food on board and watched the sun go down as we left the dock.

Along the parade route, we saw boats decorated with lights and blown up figures.

Peanut found a port hole to look through.

The kids also had fun wearing their light-up bracelets and playing with their tiny flashlights too!

What a fun ride!!

Ferry Building

Today, we rode the ferry over to SF to pick up some french bread at Acme per our usual post-Thanksgiving tradition. We have so much turkey left over that some sandwiches are in order!

It was a rainy day but no one seemed to mind.

On the ride over, the kids played Go Fish.

Janie was also reunited with Chris, her favorite crew member from her days of commuting with Dada everyday!

After picking up our bread, we got in line for Hog Island Oyster Co. As we waited for a table, the kids played in the rain and puddles.

Janie still loves her oysters!!

The kids also got some soft serve before we headed back across the bay.

On our ride back, we bumped into her classmate and pal, Jasper, who was riding back after a day at the Exploratorium.
