When Auntie Yoon arrived, she dropped off cookies for our flight home and said “see you later” to Janie.

We went out for Dim Sum this morning for a late Lunar New Year celebration.

Janie loved eating baos and gave chopsticks a try.

Auntie Vyl also gave her a red envelope and $5 inside! Although Janie didn’t understand the significance of the whole thing, she had a good time taking it out and putting it back in – over and over again.

After everyone was done eating, we tried to get a photo of all 5 kids. This was the closest I got when we were inside. For once, Janie was not very happy about taking a picture and ran off. At least they all had a good time playing with each other while we waited for the check.

Then, just before we all headed home, I captured this very rare photo of them on the steps outside. Amazing!! Happy Year of the Ram!

After the zoo, we drove down to Milpitas to drop off our tax documents. Janie brought her backpack full of toys, which helped pass the time while Daddy was taking care of stuff.

As a special treat for waiting, we stopped at the Yogurtland across the street. Janie got some strawberry frozen yogurt in a sample cup. It was just enough to satisfy her.

We had to hang out for a couple hours in case the tax guy was done early with our return. So, we stopped at a really cool fish store where Janie saw Marlin, Nemo, and Dory. She was so excited.

They also had a very gentle dog named Ben that wandered over to us.

He just sat down next to us and let Janie pet him and run circles around him.

For dinner, we stopped for dumplings. Janie had a tasty bowl of soup to finish off the meal.

We ordered mini burgers from the kids menu this evening. Unfortunately, this was the only bite she took of it before she tore it apart and only ate the meat. This kid really does not like sandwiches of any kind.

We went out to dinner this evening while we ran some errands. Janie entertained herself with the chopsticks while we waited for the food to arrive. She made a square all by herself.

She also made the letter H!

I don’t know why but watching her eat noodles makes me so happy.

She also learned how to squeeze edamame out of the shell. She really got a kick out of any time they jumped out of the shell.

Our last stop before heading home was the pet store. This is one of her favorite places nowadays.

This evening, we went out to dinner and Janie stole Mommy’s lemon for her own cup.

She had so much to tell Mommy about her day.

We actually ordered dessert and Janie couldn’t get enough of the chocolate mousse cake.

This was one happy happy kid.

This evening, we took the train to Union Square to have dinner and to go to the Apple Store. Janie loved her “bandaid noodles”, beef, bean sprouts, and soup.

“SLUUUURP!”

At the Apple Store, she tried a drawing app on the iPad. Pretty cool stuff.

They both love soup. As the saying goes, “like father, like daughter”.

It’s National Spaghetti Day and that’s what we had for dinner!

This is by far one of her favorite meals and she asked for 3 helpings!

It was definitely an after-dinner-bath kind of situation tonight as well.

Last night, Janie fell asleep in our bed and stayed there all night. Mommy and Daddy switched places between the bed and the sofa bed mid-way through. She really slept in today.

When she woke up, she was starving and had a big bowl of rice porridge that Mommy made in the room. And of course, it had a side of Os and dried strawberries.

In the morning, we went down to the beach to greet Mr. Ocean. Unfortunately, it started to rain too.

So we camped out under a canopy and passed the time with some more painting.

After the rain stopped for a bit, we went out to the sand to do some digging.

We later had a late breakfast and she only wanted to eat fruit this morning so that’s what she got – plenty of fruit.

By noon, the sun came out and everyone was back in the pool.

We tried to teach her how to blow bubbles in the water but she just couldn’t handle it.

Later, we figured out that there was a portion of the pool that she could stand with the water up to her chin. It was funny to watch her walk around saying “I’m swimming!” She also couldn’t understand why the water kept touching her chin.

Once the sun started to go down, Janie was out of the pool and fell asleep on Ankong’s lap. She had a pretty good nap before dinner.

For dinner, we went out for a nice Italian dinner in Nuevo Vallarta. They didn’t have anymore highchairs left so Janie did her best to stay in her giant chair.

She took a few selfies with Ankong while we waited for dessert.

This was a nice way to end our second day in Mexico.
