This kid loves “rice soup” and so does Mommy. So, this morning, we went back to Chinatown for the second weekend in a row.

It was perfect for a rainy morning.

After everyone’s naps, we all got in the car to go to Costco. Janie was being extra silly in the car and said “look at me!”

She had a good time tasting the samples and picking out her fruits and veggies. She also helped at the checkout line.

While Daddy went to the store to buy some plants and shrimp, Janie and Mommy went next door for frozen yogurt and picked out the green spoon for herself.

We walked down to the Farmer’s Market this morning and Janie ran about a third of the way there. She also found a “car” to drive.

For breakfast, we went to il Cane Rosso and Janie played with her tongs and puff balls until the food arrived. She was calling them “ice cubes”.

She had scrambled eggs and almost finished the side order portion that we got for her. She also did a good job keeping her underwear dry all morning and kept Mommy’s hat on in the sun.

Back at home, Mommy fell asleep on the sofa and Janie took a nap in bed with Dada.

This evening, we had short rib, mashed potato, and peas. Yum yum!

This morning, I took this cute video clip of Janie while she was playing:

During our spaghetti dinner, I took another one:

She gets really shy when we’re out with other people and some don’t believe that she talks so much. I’m gonna have to try to catch more videos of her at home where she doesn’t stop talking.

Our car was still in the shop today and Mommy had more appointments so Janie had another fun day off. The day started really early again with a ride on the train.

She had her milk on the train and then her yogurt while we waited for the doctor to call us in.

As a reward for being so good during the doctor’s visit, Mommy took Janie to the Creativity Museum. She played with the foam dough and then headed for the Lego Station.

She liked sticking the tiny Lego pieces on the wall one at a time.

The square ones were much easier.

She later went to the tegu block station and made a tall tower.

The best part of the museum is the carousel. Janie chose the dragon car this time.

This kid loves the carousel. Good thing we get unlimited rides.

After her nap, she had a tasty snack of pears and cheese while Mommy watched Glee. She really likes the singing and dancing.

While waiting for Daddy to come home from work, Janie did some cutting and coloring at her table. She’s getting much better with holding her scissors the right way.

We went out for dinner this evening and Janie had some pea soup. The waitress brought her a little sample, which was plenty for her. It was also on the house. That was nice of her.

Mommy had a doctor’s appointment so Janie didn’t go to school. Instead, she spent the day tagging along. We were up early to catch the train to the hospital.

The ultrasound appointment was going to take at least an hour so Janie watched Finding Nemo on her iPad.

After the appointment, we rode the train all the way down to the the mall to return some stuff and then walked down to the Ferry Building to buy some fruit. One of Janie’s favorite stores is Sur La Table because of all the cool spoons and kitchen gadgets that she can see and touch.

As a special treat, she got some chocolate and vanilla swirl soft serve in a cone. That is pure joy in her face.

Before heading home for a nap, Janie walked around to taste some fruit and practiced walking on the glass blocks.

Daddy had to work late that evening, so we went out for Thai food.

We ordered her favorite, Tom Kha Soup, and she gobbled up all the mushrooms, tofu, and cauliflower before slurping up the soup.

She also had some of Mommy’s Pad Thai. This is how she prefers to eat her noodles lately.
What a fun and productive no-school-no-work day!!

This evening, Janie had some tasty pasta for dinner. Lately, we’ve had to encourage her to use a fork instead of her fingers.

Afterward, she played with playdough with Dada.

Janie was really into making tortillas and then cutting out shapes.

Last night Daddy promised that Janie would be able to help make eggs in the morning. So, this morning, she woke up and the first thing out of her mouth was “I need to crack the eggs”. So we waited for Daddy to wake up and she got to crack and scramble the eggs for her breakfast.

Yum Yum!!

In the afternoon, Janie fell asleep with a fish pretzel on her chest while we were walking to Target. She slept through our entire shopping trip downtown.

Once we got home, she woke up and headed out to Petco. Next door was a frozen yogurt store where Janie and Mommy shared a little bit of tart frozen yogurt with strawberries.

At Petco, Janie was so excited to see a starfish in one of the tanks.

While we were in line to pay for some fish and plants, Janie found these cool stuffed fruit and vegetable toys.

For dinner, we had short ribs served with green beans, Janie helped by squeezing lemon juice over them.

Before bed, Janie brushed her teeth and tried flossing on her own. She flosses her front teeth really well but needs help with the molars. Fortunately, she thinks it’s fun.

This kid is pretty serious about her Chicken Rice and soup – one of her favorite meals of all time.
