Watch us grow!

This afternoon, Janie spotted Mommy as soon as she arrived and came running.

We spent the greater part of today in Foster City and Redwood City. It started out with brunch at Chow Down and Janie was so excited to see Auntie Jia.

The next stop was Bed Bath & Beyond where Janie was free as a bird in the store and a little too energetic for my taste.

Then we went to Costco to buy some new tires for the car and Janie loved climbing and crawling along this metal bench.

We then took a walk around Auntie and Uncle’s neighborhood and Janie took a good nap in the stroller.

She woke up in time to check out this cute house that was for sale. No, we’re not moving – just taking a look to get an idea of the housing market.

For dinner, we had Korean tofu soup and Janie got to have her favorite purple rice, tofu, and some of Daddy’s kimchi fried rice.

Some of it was a little spicy but she was able to handle it like a champ.

After a morning at home and a good nap, Janie deserved a long-overdue outing on her scooter.

Then we went to the food truck place for dinner and while everyone was watching Dead Poet’s Society, Janie ran around free.

Here she is waiting for her spaghetti bolognese.

“I think it’s ready, Mama.”

After our snacks, we went for a walk inside the Ferry Plaza Marketplace. This lobster looked like he was waving to her.

At Sur la Table, Janie had fun wandering and exploring.

With the crowd being lighter at this later time of day, Janie got to run free inside. She also toted around her bubbles.
Here she is running through the crowd. She also stops to ask where Auntie Jia went.

She knew exactly where the ice cream shop was and found Daddy and Uncle Jason waiting in line to order.

She was so excited to have some ice cream on such a warm day.

She got her very own cone with a little bit of ice cream put inside.

This time, she went straight for the bottom of the cone and took a big bite.

This morning we took the train, again, to the Ferry Plaza. This time it was for our weekly shopping trip at the Farmer’s Market.

Janie was so excited to help Mommy pick out a canteloupe that was just her size.

She also browsed the herbs and ran around to burn off lunch.

I forget that we have free access to the 4th floor. It’s like an extension of our home with a couch, tv (with cable), and a grill outside. Daddy was grilling while Janie played. She ran in circles around the sofas and also played with the drinking fountain.

For dinner this evening, we went out for burgers at SuperDuper. She brought BigGG and GG along and had them sleeping on her legs. Funny girl. Janie ate a bunch of pickles and hamburger meat. She also enjoyed the music playing in the restaurant and wiggled to the tune as she ate.
Here’s a video of her eating, talking, and dancing to the background music. Click here if you can’t see the video above.

Afterward, she burned off her dinner with lots of running along Pier 14 and The Embarcadero.

I think she ran at least a total of 1/2 a mile that evening. She had her hands fisted and arms pumping like a real runner too.

For Father’s Day, we went out to the California Academy of Sciences for some fishie fun.

She seemed to have a greater appreciation for all the exhibits now that she’ no longer obsessed with the stairs down at the entrance.

After lunch, we went next door to the SF Botanical Garden, which is free for SF residents!

I knew this kid liked flowers but she had such a fun time looking at and touching all the different flowers.

Since she wasn’t allowed to pluck the flowers on display, I brought her over to the grassy area to pluck little flowers out of the grass. That seemed just as interesting to her.
Here’s a video of her exploring the garden.
After a nap, we headed back to the aquarium and picked up ice cream on the way over.

Daddy shared his ice cream with Janie and she got the cone all to herself.

This is one happy girl!

Here’s a video of Janie at the aquarium. She loved running around and seeing all the fish.

For dinner, we went to Hillstone for a tasty steak dinner. Janie changed into a cute dress for the occasion.

She did a nice job drawing while we waited for the food to arrive.

Today must have burned a lot of calories for her because she had a pretty good appetite. She had steak, noodles, and tomatoes. Yum!

Happy Father’s Day, Dada! Love you!

Uncle Johnny: “Go find Auntie Joy and Alice.”

Janie: “Alice!”

In the afternoon, we walked to the Hale Koa Hotel and hopped on a shuttle bus that took us to the ceremony. Janie fell asleep on the walk over and continued to sleep on Daddy’s lap. All that fun this morning must have wiped her out.

Once we arrived at the Country Club, she woke up refreshed and ready to play.

She even posed for a few photos.

The ceremony was very short and she watched it from Daddy’s shoulders.

Afterward, they served punch and she got to have some. Keenan looks like he was waiting for his turn to sip.

Buddy Keenan was there and after sharing a hug, they jumped and ran around until the bus returned to take us back to the wedding hotel.

Take a look at her jumping!

These two had such a fun time together.

Back on the bus, she was wide awake to take in all the sights.

She had fun sitting next to Daddy and was surprised to find Mommy behind her.

There was so much to see!!

Back at the hotel, she got to say “hello” to Auntie Yoon.

That bouquet is heavy!

We all had a snack by the beach and Janie got some of Auntie Krissy’s fries.

Andrew tried to share his oatmeal.

He didn’t look too happy with the little spy standing behind him.

For the reception/dinner, Auntie Yoon made arrangements for a nanny to watch Janie, Keenan, and Andrew. She slept the whole time and even when we brought her downstairs at 9:00. She woke up when the reception was all over so she was able to change into her pjs. This photo (above) is Janie hitching a ride back to the hotel with Daddy.
