This evening, we walked to dinner and left the stroller at home. She felt so FREE and got to run alongside Dada for part of the way.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have much of an appetite and preferred to color instead of eat dinner.

Watch us grow!

This evening, we walked to Super Duper for dinner. It was warm enough to eat outside and Janie enjoyed a tasty hamburger patty and pickles.

Afterward, we walked home along The Embarcadero and Janie got to run free.

She probably ran about 1/3 of a mile before we coerced her into getting back into the stroller. She wanted to run more but her hands were freezing cold.

We had to make a milk run this evening so once again, we had dinner at the food park across from Costco. Janie loves it because she gets to run free and eat tasty stuff.

After she was done eating, she climbed over to Dada’s side to do some reading next to him.

We took Janie to The Little Farm at Tilden Park today and she was so excited to “go to the farm”. When we arrived, the first animals she saw were the cows in the barn. She (and we) were surprised to see how big these animals are. We brought celery to feed the animals and they were all over it.

The cows have these really massive tongues that extend as far as my forearm and it’s kinda scary when they come up to take the celery from your hand. Janie was too scared to hand it to them herself so we ended up doing most of the feeding.

This was the one and only time that she actually fed the cow.

The next animal was a huge pig. We didn’t bring any lettuce so we just admired her from afar.

Janie was so happy to see the chickens and ducks. This is the outside of the coop.

Inside the coop, she got an even closer look.

There were sheep up on the hill but none of them seemed that interested in snacking at the moment. It’s ok though because Janie said “I’m scared of the sheep”.

Janie tried again but then dropped the celery when the cow’s tongue was a little too scary for her. You can hear her say “big tongue” at the beginning of the video clip.

There was lots of space to run and explore at this park and Janie took full advantage.

For lunch, we found a place to sit and have a picnic.

We were lucky that the sun was out and it wasn’t too cold.

Janie enjoyed her own stash of celery plus tuna salad, crackers, and lots of pickles.

Before heading home, we went back to the cows to give them the rest of our celery.

Janie was still too scared but was willing to get a little closer this time.

What a fun day at the farm!! Next time we’ll have to bring more celery and add lettuce too!

Janie and Mommy were up early today so we went for a quick run and then stopped to “buy fruta”. This is one of Janie’s favorite places and things to do and even said “I like clock to buy fruta.” She’s referring to the clock tower.

We picked out some flowers and she loved carrying them around.

Because it was so early, the ferry plaza was really empty so there was plenty of room to run free.

There was a break in the rain this morning and the sun came out just long enough for us to go for a walk. Well, in Janie’s case, she went for a run.

She was so happy to be outside this morning.

After Mommy was done with her morning run, Janie got to run free inside the Ferry Plaza while it was super empty.

She also walked, climbed, jumped, and ran a whole mile on the way home.

We also stopped to blow bubbles at the park. What a fun way to start the day!

Janie has been doing so well lately with drop-off. She’s always on the verge of tears but doesn’t cry anymore. I can’t help take a photo of her when she gets picked up.

Here she is climbing into the car after a full day at school.

On the way home, Janie likes to point out things she sees through the window and sometimes sings along to songs she hears on the radio.

No tears this morning at drop-off. I love seeing her when I pick her up. She’s always so happy to see me.

This morning, Janie walked from the car to school today. It was her first time since her first day at school. I’ve had to carry her all the other days in between.

She also let herself into the front porch area without a fuss.

While I signed her in, she sat down and took her shoes off and put them away.

She was a big girl and also opened the door to let herself into the house. Unfortunately, the bravery ended there. As soon as she stepped in, she turned around with big tears in her eyes. Oh well, it’s a step forward in the right direction.

Look at how she darted toward the gate when I came back to pick her up that afternoon.
