Dada said he would be home late so Janie went out for dinner with Mommy. She loved the beans and even said “black beans” all on her own.
We also watched a little basketball while we were there.

Dada arrived eventually and we hung out a bit longer so he could get a bite to eat too.
It was Opening Day for the Giants but the game was in Arizona.
So, they opened AT&T Park to the public and Janie got to run around the ballpark tonight.

We celebrated Janie’s 2nd birthday today with her family in Southern California. We gathered at Thai Nakorn (our usual restaurant) and she got to see all her aunties, uncles, and 2nd cousins.
One of the best parts of this lunch was seeing Ankong and Ama!!
She ate lots of noodles and we ordered her favorite soup – Thom Kha. She had two bowls and kept asking for more.
Janie also received so many gifts. What a fun surprise!
She got books, lots of Legos, and clothes.
When it was time for cake, she was so pleased by the singing but also confused by all the people looking at her at once.
I love her expression here.
She got a big slice of ice cream cake (mint chip ice cream with chocolate cake).

The ice cream was a bit cold for her but she kept eating.

Janie and Alice went to the beach this morning and Janie started crying from the moment we opened the car door. Oh well, so much for forward progress.
She clung tightly to me for the first 20 minutes while she cried and pointed away from the ocean. When I put her down, she ran as fast as she could back to me.
Eventually, she was able to sit calmly on the blanket and play in the sand for a bit.
She even put her sunglasses and cautiously watched the waves go back and forth.
Janie rode in a Stroller 5K Race this morning. We walked along the cliffside and Janie got a gorgeous view of the ocean and waves.
While we waited for Auntie Teresa to arrive, Janie got to explore the after-race area.
She was also enamored by the balloons.
She did a great job sitting in the stroller with her snack and Magna Doodle and when we were all done, she helped pick up Mommy’s finisher’s tee.
Janie also walked around with Great Grandpa Tom, Auntie Teresa’s Dad.
They hung out together and got a ride on his shoulders. Fun! She would have played with Henry too but he slept through the entire morning.
What a fun morning!

Last night, Janie didn’t wake up screaming and slept 10 whole hours! I heard her wake up for a couple seconds at midnight but it was nothing.
We’ve been trying to get to bed earlier now with the time change and this routine seems to work.
She gets about 10 minutes of Baby Einstein Lullaby and hangs out with Mommy on the couch with the lights dimmed.
She snuggles one or two of her friends and tonight it was her otter and doggie. She knows how to make the kissing sound now and you can hear it in this video.

This routine seemed to work last night and it worked again tonight. She was in bed by 8:30 and asleep in about 2-3 minutes. Good Night, Kiddo. Hopefully you’ll have another full night’s sleep again.
It’s Auntie Joy’s birthday today so we took a walk down to a restaurant by the water to celebrate. It was super sunny outside so Janie got to wear shorts and her sassy sunglasses.
There was a bit of a wait so she had her milk on the deck with the girls.
She made sure to “cheers” Auntie on her birthday.
Here she is decorating one of the menus. Good thing it’s a daily menu because there was crayon all over it once she was finished with it.
For lunch, she had fish and chips and actually liked the malt vinegar. That’s Mommy’s little girl!
She also got a hold of Mommy’s phone and took a pretty good picture of her family. Not bad!!!
When we got home, we had to say goodbye to Uncle Johnny, Auntie Joy, and Alice. Janie gave her cousin a big kiss. So sweet.
We had dinner at Hillstone tonight and Janie got to hang out with Cousin Alice while she was awake.
Mommy forgot Janie’s food at home so we ordered Janie her very own kid’s meal. It was half a rotisserie chicken and spaghetti squash. So fancy!
I think she enjoyed it.
We had Khao Thom Gai this morning and Janie had a very interesting way of eating it.
