Train to Burlingame

IMG_5380

This afternoon, Janie rode the train down to Burlingame to have dinner with her pals Jack, Reese, Rowan, and Isla.

IMG_5389

She was so excited to ride the train and did a good job sitting between Mommy and Daddy.

IMG_5399

At Rowan and Isla’s house, they had lots of toys and plenty of space to play.  She especially enjoyed the tree swing.

She played cars with Isla (missing from the picture) and jammed with Rowan.

IMG_5404

She sat at the kiddie table with the rest of the kids and had some hamburger and chicken.

IMG_5413

For dessert, everyone got ice cream.

IMG_5417

She got her very own baby scoop of strawberry ice cream on a cone.

IMG_5422

At the end of the day, the kids chilled out for a bit in front of the TV.  This is the only time all four kids were sitting in one place.

IMG_5426

On the train ride home, she looked like a pro train rider with her iPad and elbow on the armrest.  What a fun day!

Japanese dinner

IMG_5317

We had dinner at Tsunami today and she did ok in the booth with us.  As usual, she colored before the food arrived.

IMG_5321

Then she sat up on the banquette with her small plate of noodles since it was too hard to reach the table without a booster seat.

IMG_5322

She also loved the miso soup and took some selfies with Mommy and Daddy.  Cheese!!

World Cup

IMG_5248

Today for lunch, we had ate at our favorite food truck food court and they had the World Cup playing on big screens.

IMG_5249

We actually found a good spot that provided just enough shade and a good view of the Korea vs Algeria match.

IMG_5250

And of course, we also went to Coscto to buy milk.

Father’s Day

IMG_5023

For Father’s Day, we went out to the California Academy of Sciences for some fishie fun.

IMG_5026

She seemed to have a greater appreciation for all the exhibits now that she’ no longer obsessed with the stairs down at the entrance.

IMG_5076

IMG_5071

After lunch, we went next door to the SF Botanical Garden, which is free for SF residents!

IMG_5067

I knew this kid liked flowers but she had such a fun time looking at and touching all the different flowers.

IMG_5059

Since she wasn’t allowed to pluck the flowers on display, I brought her over to the grassy area to pluck little flowers out of the grass. That seemed just as interesting to her.

Here’s a video of her exploring the garden.

After a nap, we headed back to the aquarium and picked up ice cream on the way over.

IMG_5083

Daddy shared his ice cream with Janie and she got the cone all to herself.

IMG_5085

This is one happy girl!

IMG_5087

IMG_5089

Here’s a video of Janie at the aquarium.  She loved running around and seeing all the fish.

IMG_5107

For dinner, we went to Hillstone for a tasty steak dinner.  Janie changed into a cute dress for the occasion.

IMG_5110

She did a nice job drawing while we waited for the food to arrive.

IMG_5112

Today must have burned a lot of calories for her because she had a pretty good appetite.  She had steak, noodles, and tomatoes.  Yum!

IMG_5117

Happy Father’s Day, Dada!  Love you!

outdoor afternoon

IMG_4958

After Janie’s nap, we all went outside for some sunshine and fresh air.

The scooter came along and she had the best time riding all the way down to the Ferry Plaza.

IMG_4961

She’s getting so fast that we get there faster than if we were just simply pushing her in the stroller.

IMG_4966

She definitely worked up an appetite and gobbled up all the watermelon I packed for her.

We then went across the street to the playground.  There was a nice path that went all the way around the grassy area that was perfect for scootering.  This video is a bit long but I’ve put in some subtitles to help you understand what she’s saying.  Some of it is pretty funny. There are also a couple times in the video where she was going so fast that you can see Daddy running to catch up with Little Miss Speedy.

IMG_4970

She also tried the big kid swing again.  It still makes me nervous.

IMG_4974

For dinner, we went to Hog Island and Janie slurped down 3 raw oysters all on her own.

That was rather impressive.  Here she is in action.  It looks like she’s been paying attention because she knew exactly what to do.

IMG_4980

Cheese!!

IMG_4983

On the way home, we walked down the pier for a nice view.

Dinner and Scootering

IMG_0999

For Friday night dinner, we had dinner downtown.  At dinner, Daddy tried to take a picture and Janie said, “no cheese”.

IMG_4915

Later on, she managed to sort of smile for the camera.

IMG_4920

On the way home, we took out the scooter and she rode all the way home.

IMG_4924

It was at least a mile and a half and she did a great job staying close to mom and dad.

Noodles and Costco

IMG_4900

This evening, we had street food for dinner and Janie loved the garlic noodles and coconut chicken.

IMG_0991

We also had lots of giggles this evening.

IMG_4902

After dinner, we went to Costco to pick up some milk.  She loves having her backpack in the shopping cart with her.

Scootering!!

Daddy attached his new toy to Janie’s scooter this afternoon and gave it a test ride in the house.

IMG_4521

Once we felt it was secure and working ok, we took it out into the streets!

IMG_4522

She’s getting pretty good at going straight now and has figured out how to turn too.  She rode all the way from home to the park across the street.  Here she is in action.

Love this new perspective!
