Mama’s Birthday

Today is Mama’s birthday and since she took the day off, we drove to San Francisco after Zoom classes were done. We went to the Ferry Plaza and found it deserted.

They had outdoor tables for us to sit and wait for our table at Hog Island Oyster Co.

Janie drew a cute picture while we waited.

It was fun eating at Hog Island again after so many months. They had tables spaced out nicely and the food was just as good as we remembered.

Peanut enjoyed eating his clams. He also managed to entertain himself with the empty shells too

No trip to the Ferry Plaza is complete without soft serve from Gott’s. It was nice to be back in our old hang out spot but we were sad to see how the pandemic has really turned off the hustle and bustle of the city.

First Flight

Today, the kids and Dada took their first flight since February. It’s a different experience now with having to wear masks and and empty plane.

With middle seats blocked, Peanut has plenty of room to spread out for a quick nap.

Our family of 4 had a row all to ourselves.

We made it to Long Beach and we are ready to celebrate Dada’s birthday this weekend!

Kindergarten Packet Pick-up

Today was Peanut’s packet pick-up day. It was another drive-by event.

When it was time to receive his materials, we asked if this teacher was Ms. Wells and it was!! It was a great coincidence that his assigned teacher was the one that gave him his packet!!! She looks really nice!

Peanut got all his school supplies, a Chrome book, and materials for the first 4 weeks of school.

This is what was in his first week packet. So exciting!

Food Trucks

One of Peanut’s favorite places to get lunch is the Off the Grid food truck event that is at Southshore Center every Saturday. He always gets the Southern-fried catfish and cajun fries. He got a piggyback ride while we waited for our food today.

Heading Home

The kids (and Dada) have been in Southern California since June and now it’s time to say goodbye and head back up to Alameda.

The minivan was filled to the brim with all their stuff including their bikes and other random things that Dada bought this summer. They had so much fun at Camp Magical House.
