SF Zoo

The last time we visited SF Zoo was in April! Back then, Peanut wasn’t walking or even standing yet so today was extra fun for him.

We arrived 10 minutes before the park opened and got to enjoy the lions and hippo all to ourselves.

The lions were awake and active this morning and we caught the Daddy lion roaring.

The whole family ended up coming out to greet us including the Mama and juvenile male.  What a treat!

Janie really wanted to take a giraffe photo today and she was able to squat down to match up with the ears and smile at the same time.

Little Puffer was running today so we went for a free ride with our Guardian passes.

Peanut LOVED riding the train and was really squirmy in his seat.

When Janie wanted to go a second time (to ride the caboose), we sat that one out.

No trip to the SF Zoo would be complete without going to the playground. Janie is really into climbing nowadays.

Peanut was big and strong enough to go down one of the baby slides and had a blast. Each time he went down, he tried to climb back up.

What a fun morning at the zoo! The kids did rather well considering there was a time change last night.

15-month visit

We landed in SF around 2pm and had just enough time to drop Dada off at home to go to work and make it to the pediatrician’s office for Peanut’s well-baby check-up. We even got there 10 minutes early!

He played in the waiting room with Big Sister until it was his turn.

The doctor thinks his height is greater than what was measured and had no concerns with his growth. According to the measurements of his height over his life, the percentiles are all over the place, which is not typical. Meanwhile, his weight is pretty steady with a general trend down. She attributes it to how active and mobile he has become.

At the end of the visit, Peanut got three shots in the legs and Janie got her flu shot in the arm. She looked like she wanted to cry but held it together like a champ. Mama was so proud of her.

Burlingame

We drove down to Burlingame to try out a new seafood restaurant with Auntie Vyl.

On the drive down, the kids were entertaining each other. I love watching them together.

They seated us at the bar and Peanut sat on Mama’s lap for part of the meal.

Janie and Isla sat next to each other and shared lots of giggles together.

After dinner, we went back to Rowan and Isla’s house.  This time, Peanut was sturdy enough to freely explore the livingroom on his own and pulled himself up at the sofa.

Sunny Zoo Day

We had a warm Sunday and it was perfect for going to the zoo.

Peanut enjoyed watching the cars zoom by as we waited for our lunch at the cafe across from the zoo.

We brought our lunch into the park and scored a table with an umbrella.

On our way home, we stopped at Costco to buy milk and chicken. It was nice place to cool off after a hot day outside.
