Janie has been working on putting her shoes on by herself. She doesn’t quite know what to do but sometimes she gets them on by accident. I’m just happy that she tries.

The drive back to SF was a smooth one. Janie was on her best behavior and we made a few stops to break up the trip a bit. Here she is watching Baby Einstein videos with a snack.

We also stopped at the Gilroy Outlets and Janie helped Daddy pick out some new work shoes.

She had fun shopping on foot and was intrigued by the mannequins in the store.

She really liked the jewelry display at Banana Republic and wanted to try on all of the bracelets.

Lucikly, I was able to distract her enough to transition back out of the store without having a meltdown or having to purchase something.

After shopping, Daddy had to finish up some work at the nearby Starbucks, so Janie got a special treat a couple doors down at the Baskin-Robbins. This pineapple coconut ice cream was perfect – the label also said that there was no added sugar. This kid was so happy.

Back at Starbucks, we sat down at a table and Janie worked on her drawing. Today when I asked her “What is that, KK?” She actually replied by saying “ocean”. Wow!

This is officially her first real drawing!

I think she understood how proud I was of her and even smiled for a picture with her drawing.

For dinner, we found a Mexican restaurant nearby. Janie must have been hungry because she ate almost all of Mommy’s beans and rice.

She also enjoyed the mariachi band playing behind her. Between bites, she would turn around to watch and listen.
When we got home, she was sleeping and managed to fall back asleep very quickly after a quick diaper change, milk, and brushing her teeth.

We had a very warm day in SF today so we had dinner outside. Janie rode her tricycle to the restaurant this evening.

For dinner, she had clam chowder. Check out the mess!

While Mommy and Daddy finished dinner, she practiced her animal sounds and tried to name all the letters she could.

She also entertained herself with a bag of bracelets, necklaces, and rings. It’s part of Mommy’s old work stash of toys.

Fancy.

There she goes again…wearing Daddy’s shoes with no pants on. As if that wasn’t enough, she accessorized with her bib. Classy.

Janie got these Vans from her 2nd cousin Katie a while back and they have been her go-to shoes for the past few months. This afternoon, Janie put them on by herself! Well, almost.

She was so close except the heel on the L foot got smushed and she tried so hard to wiggle her foot in. Nice effort, baby!

I found Janie in her box of socks trying to put on and take off her socks.
She still needs a lot of practice but I’m thankful that she thinks it’s fun.

Still obsessed with shoes.

Janie still enjoys putting on Mommy and Daddy’s shoes.

This evening, she hung out in Mommy’s shoes and was able to walk around in them without falling.

I guess she got tired of Daddy’s shoes and moved onto Mommy’s. First it was the running shoes.

Then it was the slippers. Those were hard to put on with socks on her feet.

I found Janie playing with Daddy’s running shoes today. What a funny girl.

She was actually coordinated enough to walk a few steps in them without falling down.
