We’re on the bus!
A Day at the Races
This afternoon, Janie went to watch her Uncle James ride in a cycling event. It was a warm sunny day in San Rafael with lots of stuff for Janie to see and hear.
She hung out with Daddy in the carrier for the first half of the day and took a few naps.
Looks like her SPF 50 hat did it’s job in keeping her from burning. We also got to hang out under the Muscle Milk tent to stay cool.
Later we got the stroller from the car so she could cool off and stretch out. She seemed pretty content watching the bikes zoom by and listening to the cowbells and cheering. It was so stimulating that she didn’t bother to take any more naps until the sun went down.
Her tasty hand also kept her pretty occupied.
So small
When Janie hangs out in Daddy’s lap, I get a little more perspective of her sizwe. She’s still so small.
Milk Coma
This is what Janie usually looks like toward the end of her 10:30 pm feeding.
She downed about 130 mL (a little over 4 ounces) this time around and was passed out by the end.
Little Sailor
Before Janie was born, we received this sailor outfit from Uncle Kevin.
Well, we tried it on today and she almost fits the dress and hat!
Here’s Daddy and his future First Mate.
Reading with Daddy
This afternoon Janie got to read a book with Daddy. It’s called “That’s Not My Dinosaur”. She looked a little concerned that the mouse couldn’t find her dinosaur.
Happy Father’s Day
Slumber Party
We now have a nightly routine. I feed her at 9:00 pm, go to bed around 10:00 pm, and Jes stays up to feed her at 12:00 am. Sometimes she’s practically eating in her sleep at midnight. With this plan, I get about 6 hours of sleep before she wakes up again at 4:00 am. That’s when I pick her up and feed/change her in the livingroom and she sleeps in the bassinet on the chair while I sleep on the couch for the rest of the morning. That way she can fuss as much as she needs while Jes gets enough sleep for work in the morning. It’s been going well so far and last night was about the same. However, a certain little baby woke up again at 6:30 and didn’t want to go back to sleep. So, I plopped her next to me on the couch and hung out with her until we both fell asleep. When Jes got up to get ready for work, he found us sleeping together like this.
We didn’t wake up until 9:00 am for her next feeding. Afterward, she was in such a good mood that she was perfectly happy just sitting under the blanket with me on the couch.
Afternoon Nap
It was so warm in SF today that Janie was able to take her afternoon nap with the window open and without pants or socks. What a rare occasion!
Room for Two and a Half
We need to get a King-sized bed. We stayed in a hotel room that had one and there was plenty of room for Janie to sleep between us. She slept with us after her 4:30 am feeding and this is what I woke up to at 8:00 am. She sleeps just like Daddy and seems pretty happy about it.
