Watch us grow!

It looks like Peanut may be teething. He was super fussy this evening. Mama had to take him for a long walk outside but even that wasn’t enough to calm him down. At least we had a lovely sunset.

Mirian and Andrea are still sick today so Mama stayed home with this grouchy little baby. Poor thing had a runny nose and a wet cough all day.

Since he was so grouchy, we went out for a walk in the morning and ended up having lunch with Dada.

Then it was back home for some playtime before going down for another nap.

Today was Peanut’s first day with Mirian. He’s only met her twice and spent only short periods of time with her. So, this morning was a little rough. After happily playing with her for the first hour, he got sad. Mimi said he missed Mama. To help cheer him up, they got into the stroller and went out for a walk.

This was at 9:30 am when they left the house.

This was taken later at 11 am and he was all smiles. He also ate well and took two naps. I’d say his first day with Mimi was a success!

This evening, we went out to the mall for dinner. We all needed to get out of the house for a bit.

At the restaurant, Janie got a menu to color and ordered the hummus and veggies plate.

She also got some of the pretzel bites that we ordered.

Peanut needed to be walked around toward the end of dinner and only perked up when taken around the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree.

Otherwise, this is what he looked like.

We later went to the food court for some frozen yogurt and Peanut cheered up at times. Janie took this photo of Mama but didn’t quite get all of Peanut in the frame.

Here he is fussing some more. He wiggled so much that we couldn’t keep his socks on!

At the mall, we stopped at a few stores and Mama found these two seated side-by-side at the Microsoft store.

Daughter and Dada are so cute when they are getting along.

We drove to Kailua to visit Auntie Yoon, Uncle Kurt, and Trevor.

They bought a new house and invited us over for lunch!

Trevor has lots of toys to play with and Peanut tried out the bouncer. He didn’t like it until he realized he could stand up and play.

Trevor wanted to hangout with his new buddy.

We also did some laundry so Peanut hung out in his diaper for a bit. Having warm weather has its advantages!

Janie played with her coloring set after lunch and did a great job staying busy.

Thanks for all the yummy food, Auntie Yoon!!

I guess Janie had a hard time transitioning to school this morning after she left the house. This is the photo that Dada took of her crying at the train station.

This evening, Mama and Peanut took a long nap. Meanwhile, Alice came home early from daycare to play with Janie on their last day together. Ta looked pretty tired after a few hours of supervising the grandkids. This is what it looked like at the end when they sat down to watch Octonauts together.

When Peanut woke up, he played in the livingroom with Alice. She shared some of her toys and also offered him his puppy when he got upset. Too bad he didn’t want it.

Ta later came by to rescue him and he was happy to be upright again.

Vancouver International Airport has these funny stuffed animals throughout. Peanut was not amused when Mama stopped the stroller each time to take a photo of him with them.

“Keep moving, Mama!!”

“That’s better.”

Here’s Peanut waiting for the plane to take off. He’s one happy baby.

For the first half, he sat quietly chewing and playing with his pacifier.

During the second half, Peanut slept and Janie watched “Frozen” on her iPad.

We made it back to SFO without any crying or fussing. Both kids did great!

Janie wanted to hold her baby brother this morning but he wasn’t really in the mood.

She was really good at acknowledging that he was unhappy and tried her best to soothe him.

She tried shushing and then gave him the pacifier, which eventually helped with a little patience.

Peanut went to see the pediatrician today for his 2-month check-up, weigh-in, and vaccinations. He did a good job staying calm while the nurse weighed and measured him today. Good boy!!

I knew that he was getting heavy but WOW!!

Mama got a high five from the doctor when she walked in and Peanut did everything he was supposed to for the doctor. It was like he knew he was supposed to show off his new skills to her.

He smiled, made some cooing sounds, and even put his hand in his mouth. The doctor said he looked great and was very happy with his progress thus far.

Unfortunately, Peanut was due for a few vaccinations this visit.

He got an oral one first and then a shot in each thigh.

Ouch. Poor baby.
