She’s showing off a new move today. So far it’s a static position. Mommy’s not ready for it to be in motion yet.
Morning Playtime
We had a nice quiet Sunday morning with Janie playing on the floor and Koa supervising from above.

Janie turned 37 weeks old today! She’s less than 100 days away from her 1st birthday too. What’s up with that?! She woke up just in time to ring in the new year with her family this week and she’s getting very close to crawling.
She also hadn’t pooped this year. She waited until this evening, 1/4/13, for her first one and it was not fun for her.
That’s why this week’s photo with Senor Fatty Duck Duck is not filled with the usual smiles. Oh well.
Presents!
This is Janie’s first Christmas season and tonight was considered our Bay Area Christmas since we’ll be heading down to Southern California tomorrow.
So, Janie got to open her gifts from Auntie Stephanie and Auntie Ranee.
Of course the bow was the most exciting part and she didn’t rip into the paper as I thought she would. Once she plucked the bow off the present, that was all she cared about. Thanks for the cute onesie, Auntie Stephanie!
Janie also got a book from Auntie Ranee and Sophie. Looks like it was a little something they picked up from Hawaii. Thanks, Auntie Ranee and Sophie!
It’s going to be a very memorable Christmas and this was a great way to kick start our week-long celebration.
Pretty Dress
For the birthday party, Janie wore the dress that she got back in October.
Unfortunately, it was already too snug. Luckily, they still had a bigger size at the store so we got to make an exchange just in time for the party. Thanks for the outfit, Auntie Jen!
First Boo Boo
Janie was having a little too much fun on the magazine rack and got a papercut on her thumb.
She didn’t even notice and we wouldn’t have noticed either until I saw some blood on her thumb. After I cleaned it off, we put on a Hello Kitty bandage for her and she was so distracted by the little funny thing stuck to her thumb.
She would play and then every few seconds would suddenty look at her thumb. She even tried to shake it off. Funny girl.
238 days
Janie’s 34 weeks old today and we’ve had a lot of stuff happen in the past 2 weeks. We were right about the teething. Last weekend we noticed a little white spot on her top gums but couldn’t feel anything yet. Then on Monday (12/10), I felt a little tooth just at the surface of the gums. Our little baby is growing another toof! So, this has been an extra-rough week of lots of fussiness, drooling, and even puking.
On top of the teething, she’s been really trying to crawl. It’s funny that I can sit her down on one part of the rug, turn around to get her a toy, and then she’s on the other side of the rug. For sure she’s not crawling yet but she’s figured out how to swivel and half-crawl, and lean over enough to move. So, that’s why we’ve moved her weekly ducky photo to the floor. I have a feeling that getting this photo taken every week is going to get more and more challenging from here on out.

Entertaining Ta
Janie spent lots of time playing with Ta today and she was showing him her new tricks. Although she isn’t crawling yet, she seems to be able to get far enough to get what she wants. By the way, this is the first time she’s isolated her index finger to play with something. She’s using her finger to fiddle with the zipper pull on my bag.
Almost impossible…
Nowadays with Janie on the move, it’s getting increasingly harder to get photos of her. As soon as you place her down, she lunges forward in an attempt to get closer to the camera. Add a moving baby to low-light conditions and you’ve got an almost impossible mission. It’s gonna be even harder once she actually figures out how to crawl. Sheesh.
