Here are the kids on the “milk mat” again.

We had some extra time to kill before heading out for a birthday party so the kids had a little tea party in the livingroom.

Afterward, Peanut continued to play and was cooking up a tasty salad and sauteed veggies.

Janie helped Mama make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies this evening. She learned how to squeeze the dough out of the disher.

Then she added some extra chocolate chips to make the cookies extra yummy.

The hardest part of baking is waiting for the cookies to cook in the oven. In the first batch, the cookies were too big and some of the cookies were touching when they were done. We made the cookies in the second batch smaller and while she watched them cooking, she said “these cookies look good and they have personal space!” That made Mama chuckle.

When the cookies were cooled, Janie got to eat one all on her own.

This is one happy little baker.

Janie helped make pancakes this morning.

Meanwhile, Peanut sat and watched while snacking on watermelon.

Then he got to taste one and was so happy. He ended up eating 5 mini pancakes this morning for breakfast!

Janie whipped up a carrot soup today. Funny how this activity never seems to get old.

Janie loves to be a helper around the house and one of the things she does in the morning is cut her oatmeal packet open and putting it in the bowl. She does a pretty good job with the small herb scissors that we have.

Dada was teaching Janie how to use a knife today while they were playing with her sushi set.

She caught on rather quickly and remembered to tuck in her thumb.

Today is a holiday so we stayed home and cleaned. Janie did a great job staying busy with her cooking and tea parties.

She also opened her new Duplo set and built the cafe on her own with Mama holding each page open in the instruction book.

She’s come a long way from building towers and walls.

Janie made lunch today! She had fun rolling the sausages in crescent roll dough.

This morning, Janie helped Mama make corn bread muffins for the Harvest Feast at school today.
Corn bread mix requires lots of muscle power to stir.

She later went to school for a few hours and then Mama and Dada met at her school for the feast. What a nice set-up!

Janie sat at the long table with her fellow Alligators. They all waited patiently for their food and drinks.

She ate next to her friend Ami and they both gobbled up the mac and cheese right away.

After the feast, she got to go home early. We walked home today in the chilly weather.
