Janie and Dada made waffles this morning. We couldn’t find our mixing bowl so they improvised with a pot for the batter.
Still came out great!!
Hot Pot
Janie asked for hot pot for dinner so that’s what we had! She loves to help with the cooking and does a pretty good job placing the ingredients in very gently.
Waffles!!
Dada got a waffle maker for his 10th anniversary at work. Janie was so excited to make waffles all week.
While Mama was out on her run, Janie helped Dada mix the batter.
She also used the hand mixer to make some homemade whipped cream!
Here is the finished product! Nice work!
Friday at School
Today at school, Peanut played with Legos and made his own fruit salad!
Lemon Blueberry Muffins
Janie helped Mama make some meyer lemon cupcakes with fresh blueberries on top.
She did a great job with the mixing, dishing out the batter, and placing the blueberries on top.
This is one proud girl! Too bad we didn’t get a photo of the actual muffins when they were done.
Dumplings with Daddy
Daddy and Janie made dumplings this evening. Dada did most of the work and Janie did quality control.
She also lined them up nicely on the tray and counted them.
Mother’s Day Dinner
Janie helped Dada make dinner for Mama. She mixed up all the wet ingredients while Dada handled the hot stuff.
She also wrote a lovely note on the board. It says “Mom Happy Mother’s Day From KK and I Love You Mom”. Her spelling cracks me up.
She was so proud of her dish and it was delicious!

in the kitchen
This morning, both kids were in the kitchen with Mama. Janie helped mix the pancake batter while Peanut played with the water coming out of the faucet. He kept putting the water on his head and face.
Early Dinner
Janie has been asking for hot pot since we bought the new house and she got her wish this evening. She helped cook the meat and Peanut tried to use chopsticks.
It was a good thing we had dinner so early because Peanut was so tired midway through and had to go to bed. He was down by 6:30! School really wipes this guy out.

Janie asked for hot pot again for dinner and Dada delivered. She loves the beef balls and picking out what she wants from the pot with her tongs.
Meanwhile, we’ve got this guy just chowing down on everything that Mama puts on his try. He was eating faster than Mama could cool off and cut up for him!
