Watch us grow!
Today, Mommy didn’t have to work in the afternoon so Janie got to visit Mommy’s work at lunch time because they were having a special retirement party. After the party, Janie sat at Mommy’s desk and tried to hack into her computer.
She then discovered the stairs and loved going up and down.
Some things just don’t change. Here she is doing the same thing last October!
Janie has been doing so well lately with drop-off. She’s always on the verge of tears but doesn’t cry anymore. I can’t help take a photo of her when she gets picked up.
Here she is climbing into the car after a full day at school.
On the way home, Janie likes to point out things she sees through the window and sometimes sings along to songs she hears on the radio.
Janie turned 29 months today and what a month it has been!
I took these photos while we were on our Saturday morning outing. My little baby is turning into quite the little girl. Here are some highlights from this past month:
Weight 29 pounds. Height 35.5 inches. Shoes Size 6/7. Clothes 2T/3T. Diapers Size 5/6.

We had one last breakfast in Tahoe this morning.
I was also noticing how independent Janie has been this weekend. She wasn’t nearly as needy for Mommy as she usually is at home. There were so many times over the past 2 days where I glance over and she is happily playing, reading her books, singing, and talking to her stuffed animals.
Here she is chilling out on the couch with her snack and milk while waiting for Ariel to finish her homework.
When Ariel was done, they played with Janie’s jewelry and we had another lesson in sharing.
By the end, they were both wearing jewelry and Janie was able to share a bunch of pieces with Ariel.

We also took a short “hike” to find Auntie Sylvia who was playing tennis nearby.
We quickly realized that we weren’t ready to do any kind of hiking with Janie yet.
This morning the girls were up early so they had breakfast first while the dads were still sleeping. Janie “played” Connect Four with Ariel at the dining table.
After breakfast, we went to the playgrounds. We started at the toddler playground and on the way there we had to pass through the mini golf course where they had a baby bear that Janie fell in love with.
This playground was just her size but it was getting hot out there.
We moved on to the big kid playground where Janie tried out the play structure. She climbed up really high and liked the lookout bubble.
Then she went down the big slide all by herself! She did it over and over again and had so much fun!

It was totally not intentional but Janie and Yai were in matching outfits today!
This evening, we visited friends in Lafayette. We took a nice evening walk around the neighborhood. Look at this pretty house!
Back at Ariel’s house, Janie got to see her chickens in the backyard. So cool!
In the afternoon, Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason came over. We rode the bus to Chinatown and Janie got to ride on Daddy’s back for part of the way.
We stopped at the bakery for some snacks and Janie picked out these sesame cookies.
We stopped at a tea shop to pick up something to drink and then enjoyed our snacks and tea on the sidewalk. Janie found a fun little obstacle course and went around and around saying “circle”.
We walked down Grant Street to Union Square and Janie got another ride.
What a funny face.
At St. Mary’s Square, we stopped for a little playground time.
This slide was fast and fun!
At Crate and Barrel, Janie lounged on one of the couches on display. Aaah…
We then took her to the Disney Store where she saw lots of Elsa and Anna dolls.
The top floor had a coloring area.
“Look what I colored!”
We also found a sign that we should probably have in our house.
At the Apple Store, Janie played with the iPads on display.
Then she had Ramen for dinner.
She always makes noodles look so yummy.
Then for the third time this weekend, Janie got to ride the train again on the way home.
This morning, Janie went to Walnut Creek with Mommy to hang out with Sophie and Vivian. First stop was Sophie’s house so that Mommy could take pictures of Baby Avia. She had waffles and blueberries with Sophie and then they played cars and tea. 
She even helped make Sophie smile for her pictures when it was time to take family photos. She’s becoming Mommy’s little helper on her photo assignments.
The next stop was the Walnut Creek Shopping Center where we met up with pal Vivian for her photoshoot. Janie was so good about sitting patiently in the stroller with her snack.
Afterward, she got out of the stroller to explore and play by the fountain.
Vivian loved watching Janie climb and move around the fountain.
On the way home, she fell asleep in the car. It must have been a really exciting morning for her.
This kid really likes doing things on her own. She has been insisting on getting up in her seat all by herself lately. It’s cute that she also buckles herself in.
