Watch us grow!

This afternoon, we went to see a house that is for sale in Alameda. Peanut explored the house and tested it out for us. He really liked the level changes but it made Mama very nervous.

As a special treat for being so patient at the doctor’s office, we took Janie to Dolores Park to play at their playground.

She was really into climbing today and scaled the big hill along the parallel bars first and then under the hoops.

It was pretty steep but she made it all the way to the top on her own.

Meanwhile, Peanut explored the bottom of the playground.

Janie also climbed up the giant rope web on her own. Made Mama pretty nervous just watching her.

Peanut gave it a try too but didn’t get too far.

Before heading home, Janie found this really tall slide and climbed up the steep part of the hill at the top.

She was a little worried about going down but she did it and put her hands up toward the last half to go faster. On the second try (we didn’t get it on video), she put her hands up the whole time and went even faster.

After settling in at home, we also went to Safeway to buy some milk and other essentials. We had a very busy day and the kids really hung in there without any major meltdowns.

We went out for dinner with Ankong, Ama, Uncle Jason, and Auntie Jia this evening.

After dinner, we went to their house and Peanut had fun climbing the stairs with his sister.

Janie also saw all of Ankong’s new fish and helped to feed them. She said “I help Daddy at home all the time.”

Before heading home, the kids played together for a bit. This is Janie’s favorite toy at this house – a Chinese checkers board made with golf tees. She’s been playing with this ever since she was Peanut’s age.

This little guy reminds me of a little monster. He eats with gusto and does not care about rubbing his food all over his face. This evening, it was black beans on his face and in his hair.

He has a cute side that also has a little spark of mischief behind it.

Take your eyes off him for just a second and he’s up to no good. He is particularly fond of the clock radio lately.

Found this guy climbing on his Lego box to get to the tv remote today.

Since the dentist office is in Walnut Creek, we met up with Auntie Ranee, Sophie, and Avia at Arbolada Park. Janie braved the tall playground structures and went down the slides with no hands to avoid the static shock on the way down.

The girls rode on the bee and the double swing together too.

For lunch, we went to Black Bear Diner and Janie shared some of her spaghetti with her pal Sophie.

Then before heading home, we stopped at Trader Joe’s. She asked nicely for some stickers at the register and the cashier hooked her up with a huge roll of Halloween stickers!

And so the climbing begins…he’s not even walking across the room yet!!

This afternoon, the whole family picked up Janie from school. We found her reading a book with a friend.

We also left at the same time as her buddies Sota and Jamie so the threesome got to jump on the rocks outside for a bit before we all headed out separate ways.

We had dinner at a Thai restaurant this evening and Janie told us all about her day at school.

Peanut was all ears while his big sister was talking. He just adores his sister.

During this trip, Peanut figured out how to climb steps. And there he goes!!

For lunch today, we went to Rock Wall Winery in Alameda. It was warm enough to sit outside for lunch.

This guy is such a clown.

The kids enjoyed the view of SF from the other side of the bay today.
