Auntie Jia got Peanut laughing this afternoon.
Family Fried Chicken

For lunch, we celebrated Mommy and Uncle Johnny’s birthdays with Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia. We all met up at one of our favorite fried chicken places and found a big table that fit all 13 of us!

The girls sat next to each other in highchairs at one end of the table.

They shared toys and played together while waiting for the food.

The twins joined the party and watched all the activity from their seats.

Peanut slept for the beginning of lunch and then woke up hungry and wanting to join the party.

Peanut and Thomas hung out outside with their dads for a while too.
Dada’s Birthday

Dada turned 40 today and Janie made a card for him this morning. They’ve been reading a book about construction trucks so she added lots of construction stickers inside.

Here is the final product. She wrote half of the letters of her name inside and colored in the heart very nicely.

She also drew the cake on the front. Mama helped with the frosting squiggles. She also chose to address him as “Dad” on the card today.

When he woke up, she gave him the card and he was super excited to see all the construction stickers. She said, “there’s an excavator and a cement truck!”

Janie also made a big birthday brownie for Dada with Mama’s help, of course.

For dinner, we all went out for salt and pepper crab. Uncle Jason drew some funny pictures for her.

She ate up a whole bunch of crab and steamed fish. Dada had to work hard cracking the crab for her and keeping up with her appetite.

Peanut slept for the beginning of dinner and then woke up for a feeding too. He stayed awake for the rest of the meal and the kids took a picture with Dada before heading home.

When we got home, we all sang “Happy Birthday” to Dada and ate the yummy brownie that she made.
Party of 8

Boy, going out with Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia is now a different experience. We’ve gone from a party of 5 to a party of 8 in a matter of months. We went to the SF Zoo together today and had the twins in their stroller, Peanut in a carrier with Dada, and Janie in her stroller.

Before seeing the animals, we had a picnic at the zoo playground. All the babies also got fed and Peanut snoozed in the sun for a few minutes while Mama put away all the food and trash.

After lunch, the babies all fell asleep and Peanut borrowed Janie’s stroller.

We used the infant insert of the Ergo to snuggle him tight in the flattened stroller seat.

Janie took Toni and Thomas around to her favorite animals and the hippo was awake!

Then we rode the train and carousel. Janie has really perfected her Queen Elsa wave.

It was another fun day at the zoo!!

For dinner, we went to a Chinese restaurant and took up a big table in the corner.

Peanut was awake for some of dinner and sat on Mama’s lap and then Dada’s lap too.
Saturday Afternoon

The twins came over this afternoon and Auntie Jia read stories to everyone.

We finally got a photo of all 4 of them together and Big GG joined the group too.

Here is a photo of the three babies again.

I have a feeling we’re going to have a large collection of these side-by-side photos and videos of them.

For the dinner, we had Chinese food delivered and it was yummy!
House full of kids!!

Auntie Jia, Uncle Jason, Thomas, and Toni all came over today. It was the first time we had all four kids together in our house and it was so much fun to see them together. We put Peanut and Thomas next to each other on Dada’s lap and there was such a size difference!!

Then we put them side-by-side on the sofa and got some pretty funny expressions out of them.

What a difference two months makes! The twins are 2 months, 7 days old and Peanut is 9 days old today.

Here’s a video of all the action:

Unfortunately, Janie was not in the mood for pictures today so we’ll have to get all four of them together on another day.
Lots of visitors!

Today was filled with excitement for this little boy. It started out quiet with Yai. He was super alert and just hung out with her.

He later chatted with Ta over FaceTime and would turn to the screen each time Ta would say something. Maybe he likes his low voice.

Around lunch, Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason arrived and met him for the first time. Toni and Thomas were also here but they were either sleeping or eating. We’ll get a cousin photo next time.

Ama and Ankong also flew in last night and came to meet their newest grandson.

This is a big year for the Lao Family!

Uncle Bang and Auntie Vyl also stopped by to meet him in the afternoon.

He was much sleepier by then.

Here he is with his new buddy Rowan.

Auntie Teresa also came to say “hello” to him. I can’t wait for him to be big enough to follow Henry around.
Just hanging out…

After brunch everyone came over to hang out.

Janie had fun just spending time with her baby cousins.

She also took a picture of Auntie Jia while the cousins were trying to fall asleep.
tricycle ride

Auntie Jia, Uncle Jason, Toni, and Thomas came over this afternoon. We all took a walk around the stadium and caught some of the Spartan Race.

Janie rode her tricycle like a pro and had a lesson on following directions and traffic safety. There was a lot of activity around the stadium and it was important for her to understand the rules.

She now understands that she needs to stay close to the family and that she is supposed to walk and hold a grown-up’s hand while crossing the street while another person carries her tryke across.

Babysitting

Janie loves her baby cousins Thomas and Toni.

This evening, she watched them get their diapers changed.

She also tried to help put on Toni’s sock.

The babies were both awake at the same time so we finally got a photo taken of all three cousins together for the first time.

Janie was so sweet and calm with them and didn’t get flustered when they started to cry.

In fact, you can see in this video that she tried to calm down Toni with a little snuggle and patting.

She’s gonna be such a great Big Sister.
