Family Time

Peanut and Janie got some good family time in this weekend. Here are photos of Peanut with Yai and Uncle Johnny.

He also got a good laugh from Auntie Joy and Cousin Alice when they tickled his feet.

Janie hung out in the backyard with Ta and a big stick that she found. She claims she was “helping” but it looked more like supervising.

Peanut loved beef chowfun today and ended up as a greasy mess.

The girls tried to take a nap together but that never works out well.

Janie also got to hang out with Auntie Jia, who she misses so much.

Before bed, Peanut found a comfy spot on Ta’s tummy.

another birthday meal

Ankong treated us to dinner this evening and ordered clams with black bean sauce for the birthday girl.

Peanut also snacked on the long beans and lasted through dinner without any fussing.

Auntie Terry gave her a princess castle and Auntie Janelle and Uncle Stan gave her a cute dress and a video.

The best part of the gifts was the tissue paper that came in the bag, which turned into an Elsa cape.

It was cute seeing Janie and Auntie Jia together again. Toni also joined in on the fun and got some good giggles.

We also got a decent (and rare) photo of our family of four. I love how the kids are holding hands.

Buena Park Afternoon

last brunch

This evening, Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia will be moving down to Southern California. Before the movers arrived, we met up for one last meal together.

We will miss you all so much but so happy that you’ll be closer to the grandparents!! See you on FaceTime!!

pizza party

There was a pizza party for Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason this evening in San Carlos.

Janie loved the pizza and ate her own salad too.

We had to leave early because Peanut was really fussy but we’re so glad we could be there. On our drive home, Janie said, “I’m gonna miss Auntie Jia and Toni. And Uncle Jason and Thomas too.”

Roy’s

We went to Roy’s for dinner tonight.

We had a table for 8 and the babies took turns sitting in the highchair.

There was some extra love for Toni this evening while Auntie Jia was eating.

Janie got her very own meal that resembled a mini version of Auntie Jia’s short rib.

Her meal also came with an ice cream dessert with sprinkles!! Lucky girl!

During dessert, Peanut was sitting in Mama’s lap and fell asleep sitting upright. I guess he got the sleeping gene from Mama.

Fussy Baby

This evening, Peanut was a little fussier than usual. He didn’t nap for very long today. Uncle Jason hung out with him during dinner and helped keep him happy.

Looked like rubbing his belly helped.

He also tried the booty shaking technique, which seemed to just confuse him.

Meanwhile, Janie was having fun with the paper cranes that Auntie Brittany was passing along to her on the lazy susan.

one last dip

We definitely made the most of our stay at the Sheraton Waikiki on this trip. I think we went in the pool every single day we were here – including this morning!

We went in for one last dip in the pool as a family and got all the kids together at one time!

How cute are they?!?!

Thanks to Jamie (Sophie’s dad), we got a group photo of the whole family. I love that you can see all our faces at once.

What a fun vacation!!! We can’t wait to go back again!

Kailua

We drove to Kailua to visit Auntie Yoon, Uncle Kurt, and Trevor.

They bought a new house and invited us over for lunch!

Trevor has lots of toys to play with and Peanut tried out the bouncer. He didn’t like it until he realized he could stand up and play.

Trevor wanted to hangout with his new buddy.

We also did some laundry so Peanut hung out in his diaper for a bit. Having warm weather has its advantages!

Janie played with her coloring set after lunch and did a great job staying busy.

North Shore

Today, we went to North Shore with Uncle Jason and Auntie Jia.

We went to Laniakea Beach (aka Turtle Beach) but all the turtles were surfing in the big waves instead of napping on the beach like they usually do.

After the beach, we ate lunch at the shrimp trunk and then headed to Matsumoto for Shave Ice.

This girl was so happy and ate her fair share of shave ice and the ice cream underneath.

She also scored a smushed penny from the store inside.

Somewhere along the way, Janie acquired some sticks and played with them in the car on our way to the Dole Plantation.

Instead of paying lots of money for the train ride, we opted for a handful of fish food and watch the koi fight over the food.
