After swim, we celebrated Mama’s birthday at a Japanese restaurant nearby. The last time we had teppanyaki, Peanut was only 5 months old and dprobably slept through most of the show.
Today, he had a good view of the cooking and got a little scared of the fire.
Janie got a giant plate of shrimp and veggies, which she loved.
We got a family photo at the end of the meal, which is rare for us lately.
For dessert, we walked across the street to CREAM for ice cream. Yum!
On our walk back to the car, Peanut serenaded Mama with “You Are My Sunshine”.
We still can’t believe our little Peanut is 3 years old now!! He’s learned so much this past year and has so much language and spunk! We got a photo of him with Senor Fatty Duck Duck on his big day.
He transitioned to the Butterflies class this past year and flourished. He learned so many songs, how to ride a tricycle, and even started potty training! He no longer needs his pacifier but still uses his blanket for comfort when he’s upset or tired.
This guy loves trucks, trains, emergency vehicles, Paw Patrol, all the things his sister likes, his “chooky chooky” claw, swinging, climbing, and jumping. He learned to like carrots finally and still has a good appetite. He’s traveled to Hong Kong this past year and did great on his first international flight and trip. He also survived and loved camping for the first and second time this summer. He also sleeps next to Janie in his own toddler bed and loves being in the same room as his sister. Just in this past month, he has figured out the potty training thing and can sleep through the night and stays dry!
For his birthday dinner, we all went out to Trabocco to celebrate. He LOVES spaghetti and was so fired up about his birthday that evening.
We are so proud of his little boy who can sing too many songs to keep count. He also learned how to take a shower and doesn’t mind having the water poured over his head. The Tadpole swim class helped him overcome his fear of going underwater and jumping in to the pool. He also doesn’t mind floating on his back with help.
The chef brought out a birthday candle on top of a scoop of ice cream and blew out his candle. He also got a couple ride tokens and went for a mini carousel ride with Janie before heading home.
Happy 3rd Birthday, Peanut!! We love you and can’t wait to see what else you learn and accomplish this next year!
This afternoon, Peanut had a special presentation and ice cream party for all the Dads of the classroom. Dada had to work and couldn’t make it so Mama went in his place. He made a frame and they sang a song for all the Daddys.
Ankong and Ama arrived this afternoon – just in time for her birthday weekend! We went out for dinner in Oakland Chinatown and she was treated to a big scoop of birthday ice cream!
Our first born turned 6 today!! She had balloons on her chair this morning for breakfast before heading to school.
She was surprised to see both Mommy and Daddy waiting for her during dismissal and came out with a big birthday crown on her head.
This past year was filled with so many milestones and accomplishments:
Started Kindergarten and has been crushing it. She also made lots of new friends and enjoys the after school program too.
Mastered the monkey bars and learned how to skip bars and go backwards too.
Learned how to start and pump a swing.
Learned to ride a Razor scooter and bicycle!!
Overcame her fear of the pool and learned how to swim. She went through the Starfish and Seahorse levels already!
With all the swimming, she also learned how to take a shower at the pool and at home.
Learned how to use chopsticks.
Took her first ski lessons.
Started tennis and Mandarin classes.
Traveled to Hong Kong with the family.
Lost 3 baby teeth and her 6-year molars gave popped up too.

Way to go, Big Girl! We are so proud of all that you’ve done this year and can’t wait to see what else you’ll do in the coming year. Happy 6th Birthday!!
