This is how we found her this morning. We call it turtle-mode.

I found Janie sleeping with her thumb in her mouth this morning. I guess GG wondered off too far last night.

This week Mommy has had to leave early to take BART to work and Janie’s usually still asleep.

So, of course, Janie has been waking up and finding Mommy gone. This morning, she woke up with Daddy sitting nearby and said “Mama Bye” and they took this photo together. They look particularly similar in this photo.

Mommy went back to work today and Janie was super bummed out this morning before Mirian arrived. She slept in and didn’t wake before Mommy left and when she woke up, she called out “Dada!!” When Daddy came to see what she wanted, she cried and said “Mama bye. No Mimi.” I guess she knew it was a regular day again.

Luckily she snapped out of it quickly. I received this happy picture from Mirian just 15 minutes after Daddy left for work.

For dinner, we went to an Italian restaurant with Andrew and Auntie Holly.

They shared a kids spaghetti and meatballs dish and it was like a scene out of Lady and the Tramp. I loved watching their different styles of eating noodles. Andrew went straight for a big forkful of noodles and Janie slurped them one at a time.

Luckily dinner arrived before Janie got too sleepy and she fell asleep in the stroller in no time.

After breakfast, Janie and Keenan met up at the aquarium. It has been 21 months since we brought her here the first time and it was fun to see how much she’s changed and grown.

It was fun to see her exploring the grounds on foot.

This kid looks so grown-up sometimes.

She found her pockets and strolled around while we waited for Keenan to arrive.

These kids had fun causing trouble together. Monkey see, Monkey do, right?!

Afterward, we had snack time on the lawn under the shade. Keenan shared his tasty goldfish crackers. How appropriate.

Meanwhile, Daddy and Uncle Kevin went to Rainbow Drive-in to pick up lunch.

Janie took a long nap in the stroller while the rest of us ate at the park.

We didn’t get a crib for her in the hotel room this time around. Instead, she slept on the other double bed. Somehow she managed to turn herself all the way around 180 degrees. This girl partied too hard last night.

In the afternoon, we walked to the Hale Koa Hotel and hopped on a shuttle bus that took us to the ceremony. Janie fell asleep on the walk over and continued to sleep on Daddy’s lap. All that fun this morning must have wiped her out.

Once we arrived at the Country Club, she woke up refreshed and ready to play.

She even posed for a few photos.

The ceremony was very short and she watched it from Daddy’s shoulders.

Afterward, they served punch and she got to have some. Keenan looks like he was waiting for his turn to sip.

Buddy Keenan was there and after sharing a hug, they jumped and ran around until the bus returned to take us back to the wedding hotel.

Take a look at her jumping!

These two had such a fun time together.

Back on the bus, she was wide awake to take in all the sights.

She had fun sitting next to Daddy and was surprised to find Mommy behind her.

There was so much to see!!

Back at the hotel, she got to say “hello” to Auntie Yoon.

That bouquet is heavy!

We all had a snack by the beach and Janie got some of Auntie Krissy’s fries.

Andrew tried to share his oatmeal.

He didn’t look too happy with the little spy standing behind him.

For the reception/dinner, Auntie Yoon made arrangements for a nanny to watch Janie, Keenan, and Andrew. She slept the whole time and even when we brought her downstairs at 9:00. She woke up when the reception was all over so she was able to change into her pjs. This photo (above) is Janie hitching a ride back to the hotel with Daddy.
We rented a cabana by the pool for the day and Janie had so much fun. In the morning, we had almost the whole pool to ourselves. This is her in the toddler pool. It’s only 1 1/2 ft deep.
Here she is in the bigger pool with Daddy.
This kid is having such a fun time here in Hawaii.
Her favorite game is walking along the edge of the wading area and having a grown up follow her from the deeper side.
After lunch and a nap, Janie invited her friends over to the cabana for some fun by the pool. She played with Uncle Roy, Auntie Holly, and Andrew. She took turns with Andrew in going through the tunnel slide.
Then they chilled out on the pool chairs. Boy, these toddlers have it good.
It certainly was an epic pool day for Janie.
She fell on Daddy’s chest at sunset, slept through dinner again, and didn’t wake up until morning.
Janie had ramen for lunch and loved it.
She said hello to Mr. Ocean but was still not sure of him. There weren’t any tears but she still didn’t touch the water.
Janie also tried out the pool and that was a hit – especially the 1/2-foot wading area.
She tried to join us for dinner but fell asleep. It was 10 pm PST after all.
