Watch us grow!

This afternoon, Janie was pretending to sleep like a baby. It was reminiscent of her early days as a little infant.

This little girl woke up with all smiles today.

We went to the mall this evening for dinner and to walk around a bit. As usual, the train ride was lots of fun.

Janie has been really interested in the letters all around her.
We took her downtown without a stroller this evening so she LOVED browsing the stores on foot. Sur la Table was her favorite. There were so many things to see and touch!

She picked out this chicken egg time and walked around with it for a while. Luckily, she was able to put it away when it was time to go.

We bought her a tiny spoon for her dinners at restaurants. It’s the perfect size and weight for her.

Riding the escalator is always a fun treat.

“Hm…which shirt do I want to buy?”
As we waited for our train to arrive, Janie waved to all the extra trains that went by.
She also waved to the train we were going to board.
The ride home on the train was fun but it was also close to bedtime. So she pretended to sleep. What a silly girl.

Eventually, she actually chilled out on Daddy’s lap just before we had to get off.
We all slept over at Auntie and Uncle’s house on Friday night and Janie did not have a good night’s sleep. She cried every hour because of her stuffy nose and insisted on sleeping on the while sofa. So, that’s where she slept and Mommy slept on the brown sofa.

This is what she looked like in the morning.

She also had such a fit when Mommy tried to give her a bath and woke up the rest of the family. As we were all getting ready to go out, Janie helped Auntie Jia re-pot her plant out on the balcony.

At brunch, Janie enjoyed showing off her sunglasses.

I was sick today and by the time she was feeling better around 7:30pm, this was all I got to see. Surprisingly, Janie was sleeping in her pack-n-play too! Janie and Daddy must have exhausted each other out this afternoon because I also found Daddy asleep on the couch/bed.

It’s almost bedtime and Janie has been tucking her friends in too. In the photo below, it’s hard to tell but she has covered Senor Fatty Duck Duck with a blanket.

This girl loves her giraffes. In fact, she fell asleep snuggling all 4 of her stuffed giraffes tonight. So cute.

Mirian had a doctor’s appointment today so Mommy stayed home today.

In the morning, we had to pick up milk and got some breakfast on the way home.

Later in the morning, Janie got to color and draw on a giant sheet of paper.

She did a really good job covering the whole thing. Now it’s up on our wall for everyone to see.
Later in the evening, she decided to have naptime on the floor with her friends. She’s really into covering them with the blanket and “reading” to them. She even says “good night” in this video.

Janie took a road trip down to Southern California today and spent a lot of time in the car seat. Luckily it’s super comfy and allows her to see the road ahead.

She also sleeps quite well in the seat too. Here she is with GG and Big GG. She managed to take a 90-minute nap.

This is what she looked like when she was done. Still pretty groggy and stone-faced. I think she was just ready to get out of the car.

We didmake a couple stops. This one was half-way there and she got to run around a bit.

Convenience stores are so much fun. There’s so much to look at.

The fountain outside was cool but it was SO HOT outside.

We went straight to Rose Hills for the viewing service. We waited in the car for a bit while people were arriving.

Janie also got a big hug and an almond cookie from Ankong. So lucky.

It was really late and time for Janie to go to sleep. I was tidying up the livingroom when I found her in the kitchen with all her friends and blankets. She even went over with a book and said, “read a book”. She must be imitating the lady at the library.

She got really upset when I started to move her friends back to the livingroom. She put them all back and settle down for her own nap. She’s not asleep in the picture but if we left her there, she would have slept in the kitchen all night.
