It’s been a long time since Janie had slept in her pack-n-play so we folded it up and put it away today.  (It used to sit where the two hampers are now.)  Now if we can rearrange things a bit, we could potentially have room for a big girl bed.  We shall see…until then, Janie is perfectly happy with the fold-out couch.

Lazy Saturday

IMG_0252

This morning everyone was up early so we walked down the street to a cafe nearby to have breakfast.

IMG_0253

It was still raining when we got home so we stayed in for the rest of the day.  We played some music and Janie had a little dance party.

She then pretended to nap with Daddy and then actually fell asleep while she was reading her books.

passport photo

IMG_9897

This evening, we went to CVS to get a passport photo of Janie.  We are going to Mexico for Christmas so we had to get it done stat!  While she waited for the photo to print, she pretended to sleep in Daddy’s arms.

Here is the photo.  It would have been nice if her hair looked a little neater and if she smiled but I’m actually just happy that she was looking straight at the camera and not crying.  This will do just fine.

Chinatown

IMG_1165

This morning, Ankong, Ama, Auntie Jia, and Uncle Jason came over.  We took them to Chinatown and Janie was super excited to ride the bus again.

IMG_9840

At Washington Bakery, she studied the menu with Ankong.

IMG_9841

She also got a quick lesson on salt and pepper.  Too bad she was too sleepy to really pay attention.

IMG_9842

We managed to keep her awake long enough to eat and she had some porridge, Chinese broccoli, and Singapore noodles.

IMG_9843

She also helped sing and blow out the birthday candle with Uncle Jason.

IMG_1169

On the ride home, the bus emptied half-way through our ride and Janie got to stretch out for a bit.  It was way past her nap time and she insisted on being carried home from the bus stop.  Maybe it’s time to invest in an umbrella stroller.

Naptime

IMG_9794

This afternoon, everyone took a nap before dinner.  We actually had to wake Janie up to leave for Uncle Jason’s birthday dinner.

Luckily she wasn’t too grouchy about it.

Alice’s birthday party

DSCN3469

Today, we celebrated Alice’s birthday with a big party.  Janie helped set-up the table with Uncle Johnny and Daddy.

She had a buffet of tasty Thai food including noodles, rice, chicken, fruit, and Mommy’s favorite tapioca balls.

She made another bag at the craft table and insisted on having 3 eyes and a bunch of puff balls on it.

This girl loves gluing stuff!

Janie was also very good about telling Mommy when she had to use the toilet.  We still had pull-ups on her but she managed to stay dry!

IMG_9603

Here she is with 2nd cousins Cole and Brandon and Cousin Alice, the birthday girl!

Of course there was cake and it was paradise cake again from King’s Hawaiian!  She had the same cake for her first birthday!

Alice woke up in time to blow out the candle.  Unfortunately, she didn’t want any part of the cake.

Toward the end of the party, Janie was tired since she stayed up through her nap.  Here she is pretending to sleep on the bench next to Daddy.  Funny girl.  I wish she actually did sleep on that bench.  What a fun party!
