Disneyland 2014

3ofus

On Christmas Eve, we went to Disneyland once again and it was Janie’s 3rd trip.  This year it seemed more exciting for her and on the days leading to it, she would tell anyone around her “I’m going to Disneyland!”

Here she is waiting for the tram from the parking lot to the park.

Our first stop was Disney’s California Adventure where we visited Santa.  She’s still not a fan of Santa so we took a family photo this year.

On our way to Cars Land, Janie was so excited to see the trolley and wanted to ride it so badly.  So, of course, that’s what we did!

IMG_1043

She also enjoyed the “special treat” that she received from Santa’s helpers.  Candy canes are so yummy!

While the grown-ups went on the Cars ride, Janie and Alice hung out with Ta outside.

It was a very sunny morning in Cars Land and Janie saw Lightning McQueen drive by.

We also took another family photo in front of the sign.

On our way to see Elsa and Anna, the cousins held hands as they walked down the street.  I love this picture of the two of them.

Up until this moment, Janie was so excited to meet Elsa and Anna.  But, as I had predicted, she was so starstruck that she wouldn’t look at Elsa and only peeked at Anna from Daddy’s shoulder.

After the Meet and Greet, it was time to head over to Disneyland.  I just love this video of Janie running across the esplanade with her favorite Christmas song playing in the background.  This is one very happy kid.

Once we entered the park, the first thing she noticed was the horse pulling a trolley.  She was so happy to see this for some reason.

IMG_1408

This is how we kept her nearby as we walked through the crowds.

Here are some photos of us in front of some famous landmarks.

After lunch, everyone took a potty break and Janie was so happy to see that they had a toilet that was just her size!!  It’s found in the baby care center where they have tiny little flushing toilets next to the changing tables.  She managed to pee and make two “meatball poo-poos” (in her words).

She also had to announce it to the whole family so Uncle Johnny helped her celebrate.

We had talked about meeting Winnie the Pooh and all his friends for the past two weeks.  When it came time to say “hi”, Janie only wanted to stand back and watch them from afar.

After riding the Pooh ride, Janie was out for the count.  She and Alice both took a nice long nap while the grown-ups went on Thunder Mountain.

After their naps, we headed over to Fantasyland where Janie met Olaf! He said “hi” to her and told her some jokes too.

Here we are in line for the Casey Jr. Train.

IMG_1087

We all sat in the monkey cage and Alice didn’t want the ride to end.

IMG_1432

We also rode Dumbo together and Janie got to make our elephant go up and down.

The carousel was the girls’ favorite ride of the day.  Luckily there wasn’t much of a line and we got to go on twice!!

IMG_1101

In the afternoon, we went down to Main Street to reserve a spot for the parade.

DSC_6002

The girls had a lot of fun snacking and hanging out together.

IMG_1145

I love this photo of the girls with their grandparents.

IMG_1433

This one is funny too.  Alice was stealing Janie’s broccoli in this photo.  Too bad she didn’t want to eat it.

IMG_1108

Since there was plenty of time to kill before the parade, we browsed the gift stores nearby and Janie was so excited to see Nemo!!  So many Nemos!!

IMG_1523

When the parade started, Janie was awestruck.   There was so much to see and hear!

IMG_1120

She just sat there with these wide eyes and sheepishly waved to a few of the characters that went by.

IMG_1125

After the parade, we headed down to It’s a Small World.

IMG_1130

Once again, Janie just sat there quietly taking it all in.  Funny girl.

IMG_1132

While we ate dinner, Janie took another nap in the stroller.  Luckily, she woke up just in time for the fireworks and snow.

IMG_1140

What an exciting (and long) day for this little 2-year-old.  This was certainly the best trip yet now that she understands and recognizes so much more.

Merry Christmas!!!

When it was time for Janie to take a nap, Alice wanted to join her.

IMG_5928

So, we put her in bed with her and they hung out for a while until it was too much fun for Janie to fall asleep.

a good night’s sleep

IMG_0974

Last night she didn’t want to go to bed but she actually fell asleep on her own with a couple of books.  She also didn’t wake up at all last night and slept in.  In fact, it’s 7:30am right now and she’s still asleep.  I’m glad she’s getting her rest now because we have a fun-filled day planned for her!

one more day with daddy

IMG_0871As a precaution, Janie stayed home from school one more day and Daddy was once again the babysitter.  She was feeling much better and loved having out on Daddy’s lap.  She even called Mommy at work on Facetime during lunch.

IMG_0884

At nap time, she fought it with tears but then 30 seconds later, she passed out for a good 2.5 hours.

IMG_0885

Aaaaahhh…

IMG_0880

When Mommy got home, she was happy and back to her old self.  It looks like they spent all day at home in their pjs.  How nice.

rough night

IMG_0862

Last night, Janie went to bed after her bath and didn’t have much trouble falling asleep.  Her temp was down and she was in good spirits.  At 2 am, she woke up crying and Dada found her so sweaty.  I took her temp and it had shot up to 101.9!  She got some Tylenol and laid around in bed with Mama for a bit.  After 30 minutes of rolling around, she sat up and started to cry.  Dada took her into the livingroom and sat with her for a bit.  She finally fell asleep on the sofa until morning.  I had to go to work, so I left super early while she was still sleeping.  When she woke up, she didn’t want her picture taken so this is what I got when Dada texted me with an update.  She was at 99.1 and kept saying “mama will be right back and will bring the mail”.  Funny girl.  I was able to get enough work done to go home early and got back in time for Dada to make his 3pm meeting in the office.  When I got home, she was trying to fall asleep for her nap but got excited when I arrived.

IMG_0864

So I sat with her in her bed until she fell asleep.  She looked so peaceful.

hiding

IMG_0852

Janie didn’t get her full nap today.  So, around 7:30, she crawled into our bed and disappeared.  When I went in to check on her, she was under the covers and pillows.

IMG_0853

Under the big pillow was a cute little girl all tucked away and comfy.  I let her sleep for another hour before transferring her to her bed.  Let’s hope she sleeps through the whole night.

Big Kid Bed!!!

IMG_0671

Look who has a big kid bed now!!  No more sofa for Janie!  We had to rearrange her “room” a bit and everything fit perfectly.

IMG_0682

She absolutely loved it and spent most of the evening in bed.  The leaf umbrella shades her from the kitchen lights hanging above (and the grease when we’re cooking).  It also makes it a little cozier.

IMG_0681

The toddler bed is shorter than a twin bed but just big enough to fit a Dada for bedtime stories.  Unfortunately, she had such an exciting day that she had a hard time falling asleep tonight.
