Zoo with her pals

We went to the SF Zoo this morning and met up with Sophie, Theo, and Sadie. The last time they all went to the zoo together was last February!!

These little monkeys loved “hanging around” the penguin pool.

Getting a photo of all four of them is nearly impossible.

Rounding them up to one place is like catching marbles on the floor.

Luckily we got a few photos of the 4 of them together.

After our picnic on the grass, all the kids went to play at the playground. I found Janie playing on the big kid swing and was holding on well enough for Daddy to push her higher than I’ve ever been willing to push her.

She also pretended to be a napping bird in this weird nest-like swing.

Before heading out, she watched the giraffe nearby at the exit.

Just minutes after getting into the car, it was lights out for her. What a fun morning!!

Sunday recap

Last night Daddy promised that Janie would be able to help make eggs in the morning. So, this morning, she woke up and the first thing out of her mouth was “I need to crack the eggs”. So we waited for Daddy to wake up and she got to crack and scramble the eggs for her breakfast.

In the afternoon, Janie fell asleep with a fish pretzel on her chest while we were walking to Target. She slept through our entire shopping trip downtown.

Once we got home, she woke up and headed out to Petco. Next door was a frozen yogurt store where Janie and Mommy shared a little bit of tart frozen yogurt with strawberries.

At Petco, Janie was so excited to see a starfish in one of the tanks.

While we were in line to pay for some fish and plants, Janie found these cool stuffed fruit and vegetable toys.

For dinner, we had short ribs served with green beans, Janie helped by squeezing lemon juice over them.

Before bed, Janie brushed her teeth and tried flossing on her own. She flosses her front teeth really well but needs help with the molars. Fortunately, she thinks it’s fun.

Change of Plans

After breakfast, we had plans to go to the zoo. We took a nice walk down Kalakaua but once we arrived at the zoo, both kids were knocked out. So, we hung out at the beach while the slept instead. Janie slept for almost 2 hours!!

One the kids woke up, we all headed out to the beach for some sand and sun.

Janie didn’t want to go swimming in the water with Daddy but she was brave enough to sit in the waves with Mommy.

She had a good time digging a trench with Uncle Johnny and watching the waves wash water into the holes.

Later in the afternoon, the tide was coming up pretty high and flooded our campsite. Janie looked pretty worried.

At that point, we packed up and headed to the pool where the two cousins were up to no good, as usual.

Let’s go to Hawaii!!

We had a very early morning and a long journey to Hawaii this morning. It started with a train ride to the BART station at 6:15 am.

We caught the 6:40 BART train to SFO and Janie loved riding the train while snacking on celery sticks.

We arrived at SFO by 7:15 and had plenty of time to have breakfast and relax.

On the plane, Janie checked out the safety card before take-off.

She was entertained by her iPad and watched “Finding Nemo” twice.

In between the second round, she fell asleep and slept for over an hour.

When she woke up, she finished the movie in time for landing. The lady behind us also complimented her on how quiet she was the whole flight. Good job, KK!

Friday Adventures

Janie had another day with Daddy today. She slept in until 9:30 and then she was up and ready to go out for the day. Her hair needed a little work so Daddy tried again.

Ta Da!! Two clips and a rubberband did the trick!

They first went to the mall for lunch at Chipotle. During lunch, she said “Dragons don’t like spicy salsa. I’m a dragon and you’re a rabbit. I don’t like spicy salsa.” Haha. She’s been reading her newest book “Dragons Love Tacos” lately and yesterday Daddy told her she was a dragon and he was a rabbit (Chinese zodiac signs). Funny girl.

After lunch, they hopped on the train and rode all the way to the end to get to the zoo. By the time she arrived, she was asleep in the stroller.

So, Daddy sat at the zoo playground to do some work while she slept.

Once she woke up, she got to see giraffes, lions, zebras, a hippo, and tigers. What a fun day with Daddy!!

This evening, Janie had a hard time going to sleep and in the meantime laid out all the blankets and pillows to set-up a slumber party for her pals. They each got a pillow and she snuggled up with them under her own blanket. Too bad she still couldn’t fall asleep.
