Mama had lots of cleaning to do this morning so Janie did some coloring in her book after breakfast.

We had a rough morning. She woke up crying and refused to get out of bed. So, Dada had to carry her to the car. On the way to school, she fell asleep. *sigh*

Today was all about sleeping in Mama and Dada’s bed. For her nap, she fell asleep while Dada was reading his iPad.

After dinner, she climbed in bed with Mama and Dada and fell asleep. Luckily she was ok with being moved to her bed for the rest of the night.

We went to Hillstone for a yummy Father’s Day steak dinner. Janie wasn’t quite done with her afternoon nap so she snuggled on Dada’s lap while we waited for our table.

Janie ate her fair share of smoked salmon today before her dinner arrived.

She switched seats and sat next to Dada when the food came and had her mashed potatoes, carrots (from home), and some of Daddy’s steak too.

Hey, where did she go?!

After dessert, Janie said, “take a picture of me” and posed for the camera. Silly girl.

She was also willing to smile for a picture with Mama.

Happy Father’s Day, Dada!

With the 8-hour time difference, it has been really difficult for Janie to talk to and/or see Dada. When he wakes up in the morning (6am in Grenoble), Janie is usually asleep already (9pm here). When Dada is about to go to sleep (12am in Grenoble), it’s only 3pm here and she’s still at school. Fortunately for her, when he called this evening, she was in bed but hadn’t fallen asleep yet. So, they got to FaceTime for a couple minutes before saying “goodnight”. Only 3 more days…

Every morning, I have to wake this sleeping angel in order to get to school (and work) on time. She always looks so cozy and peaceful.

Our drive back to SF took much longer than our drive down.

One of our stops was at the Tejon Ranch Outlets. Janie got to have a snack and run around a bit.

She got a new pair of shoes and so did Peanut! Janie also had fun looking through all grown-up shoes. There were so many colors!

After a nap, Janie spent a few hours watching Finding Nemo and Curious George. It’s a good thing we came prepared because there was a lot of traffic on Interstate 5.

She eventually fell asleep toward the end of the drive.

Our final stop before heading home was Auntie Jia and Uncle Jason’s house. We picked up pizza and Janie got a bath. She gave Auntie a big hug before leaving. The next time we see her, she might have two new babies for Janie to meet!!

Before dinner, Alice and Janie tried to take a nap but Uncle Johnny was the only one who got any Zs.

So on the way to dinner, she fell asleep and then slept through all of dinner.

However, she woke up in time for dessert at Cookies and Cream.

She was scared of the dry ice steam in the store but really enjoyed her share of Cinnamon Crunch ice cream.

When we got back to Yai’s house, Janie had some of the leftover jook that we took home from lunch. She must have made it look really good because Alice wanted some too.

When it got dark outside, we cracked open the light sticks and the girls had fun waving them around in the backyard and then running around in the dark hallway inside the house.

After a morning at Disneyland, Janie met up with Mommy, Daddy, and Yai at the Anaheim Packing House. There were lots of stairs and Janie was OBSSESSED with going up and down. It was like a flashback to when she was around 18 months old.

For lunch, she had some pho and lemonade.

When the kids were done eating, they chased each other around and Janie tried to give Alice a hug.

They also played “Ring Around the Rosey”.

Downstairs in the grassy area, we all shared some ice cream together and the girls each got their own cone.

They also burned off the sugar with lots of running and going up and down the stairs.

Alice tried very hard to keep up with Janie.

It also looks like Janie is ready to be a big sister. She was bossing around Alice all afternoon.

With all the excitement this morning, we weren’t shocked to see Janie passed out on the ride home.

I love how peaceful she looks when she sleeps. It just doesn’t get old for me.
