30-month Appointment

IMG_3249

Peanut got picked up early today and went to see his pediatrician for his 2 1/2-year check-up.

He weighed 31 lbs 5 oz and he’s now 35 inches tall. Doctor said he looked good and he didn’t need any shots today. Yay!

After the appointment, he helped Mama with a little shopping at Whole Foods in San Francisco.

IMG_3253
Once we got back home, he had a quick lunch and then went upstairs to play with his MagnaTiles. He also went to sleep on his own and took a nice long nap.

Sick Day

IMG_2746
This morning, Janie was really emotional while going to school. Later this morning, Mama got a call from the school saying that she had a fever. So, she had to get picked up early and slept the rest of the day.

IMG_2753
When Peanut got home, they took a nice warm bath together before going to bed. Hope she feels better soon.

Busy Day

IMG_2741

Peanut had a busy day at school and after.  He had a special assembly and watched the Kindergarteners put on a puppet show. You can see him in the blue shirt covering his ears.  Weird.

IMG_2743

Then he played in the sandbox with his friends.

IMG_2744

He also learned how to clean up after snack.

IMG_2745

The teachers also took a photo of him napping. So cute…

IMG_2739

Afterschool, we went to Mama’s old graduate school to show the students what normal development looks like. Auntie Teresa, Henry, and Hudson also participated.

Beach Day!!

IMG_2673
We spent the day in Half Moon Bay today and met up with the Tsaos at Gray Whale Beach Cove. There was a bit of a walk down to the beach but it was worth it.

IMG_2579
The beach was quiet and the weather was surprisingly warm without any wind.

Eventually, the kids couldn’t resist the water any longer.

IMG_2606

IMG_2611
They just love making muddy sand together.

IMG_2681

IMG_2678
The kids played just like they did in Hawaii together. This reminds me how nice it is to be living in California. By the end of the day, Janie was down to her swim suit and living it up!

IMG_2618
Janie and Sophie have grown up together and still enjoy the same things.

IMG_2622
I love this photo of them burying their feet in the sand. I could hear them say “we’re so smart, the water won’t get us now.”

IMG_2632

IMG_2636
These kids had such a fun time outside at our local beach.

IMG_2649

IMG_2659
Peanut even got a comfy nap inside our pop-up tent!

IMG_2684
The walk back up the cliff wasn’t as bad as we expected. Peanut actually managed to walk up at least half of the steps back up.

Thanks you Jamie for getting a group photo at then end of the day! He also captured quite a few of our photos from the day too.

IMG_2671
On the way home, the we stopped at McDonald’s for Happy Meals. They were hungry from a big day at the beach!

HKK > SFO

IMG_1436

It’s time to fly back to San Francisco today! We said goodbye to our hotel and took one last family photo.

IMG_3033

IMG_1439

We took an Uber to the airport and Peanut had fun looking out the window for buses.

IMG_1445

At the airport, we got the whole family into the United lounge and the kids enjoyed lots of fruit and other snacks before we boarded.

IMG_1460

Peanut did a good job walking onto the plane without any major hiccups this time. The flight took off at 12:30pm Hong Kong time.

IMG_1464

We also had an extra seat for him to nap. Janie sat up front in Economy Plus with Ankong and Ama because they ended up with an extra seat between them.

IMG_1470

With the extra seat, Peanut was able to stretch his legs, lie flat, and sleep for most of the 10-hour flight home.

IMG_1471

We made it back a little early at 7:45 am PST the same day and rode the parking shuttle to our car. We were back with a full day ahead of us. The kids were a little disoriented but did ok.

Pre-Wedding Dinner

IMG_0915

After a brief stop at the hotel, we went back out and rode the train to dinner.

IMG_0917

Auntie Kelly had a pre-wedding dinner at a hot pot place in North Point. The girls played their version of Uno while dinner was being set-up.

IMG_0918

Janie also tried some raw geoduck and loved it.

IMG_0921

She filled up on geoduck before going down for the night.

IMG_0922

IMG_0929

Looks like jetlag caught up with them because they were both out before 7pm.

Tokyo > Hong Kong

IMG_0714

We arrived in Tokyo exhausted and hungry. Peanut fell asleep in the stroller while we had some ramen.

IMG_0717

Our layover was 4 hours long so Janie got to relax and do a little shopping.

IMG_0718

She bought some planes for her pals Gavin and Collin and played with her new playing cards from the plane.

IMG_2961

Mama taught her how to play War.

IMG_0722

On the 4-hour flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong, Peanut played for a a little while.

IMG_0726

He received a blow-up plane from the flight attendant and had fun taking some pictures with Mama.

IMG_0729

IMG_0733

Fortunately for everyone, the whole family slept for most of the flight and Peanut slept through the landing.
