The letter of the week is P so everyone went to school in their pajamas and they also had popsicles after nap time. What a fun day!

This morning, Janie was so excited to have Mama walk her to school this morning.

She insisted on wearing her Elsa shirt to school on her birthday and this is the outfit she came up with.

After nap time, Mama and Dada went to her school to celebrate with her school friends.

The class sang to her and then she got crowned by her teacher. She picked out the green in her crown the day before.

We also brought cupcakes for the whole class. It was vanilla with confetti sprinkles per her request.

After the party, we took her across the street to Waterbar where they have $1 oysters before 5pm.

This girl was on cloud 9 and had all the oysters she could eat. I think she had a dozen all on her own.

After dinner, we had a small birthday cake with candles for her to blow out. It was a very sweet birthday for a very sweet girl.

Mommy picked up Janie from school this afternoon and found her helping Teacher Sharla with the class art project.

Janie brought home an invitation to their Earth Day performance and it had a picture of an eagle that she drew.

Dada had to go to his conference really early this morning so Mama drove Janie to school today on her way to work.

Mama took BART to work today so she got to pick up Janie from school. This is the Muni station where we wait for our ride home.

Janie sipped her milk and waited patiently for the train like a commuting pro. This is way more fun than sitting in a car in traffic.

Mama dropped Janie off at school this morning and saw the new Words of Wisdom posted. This month’s question was “What is love?”

Janie said “Love is when your baby laughs and smiles at you.” So sweet.

Janie came home the other night with a large roll of artwork that had collected over the month in her portfolio at school. We picked the best ones and hung them up on the wall tonight.

There were at least 10 of these in the pile. Apparently she likes to draw this picture over and over again. There’s always a yellow sun, blue sky, some green grass, and a person.

There’s a featured artist every week and it’s Janie’s week! Her artwork is on display at the entrance to her classroom. One of her favorite things to do is cut paper with scissors at the art table. I like how her teacher included her clippings on the board.

“This is my paint. It is pink and purple.”

“This is my baby brother, when he grows up.”

“This is Peanut…he has a belly button.”

Here’s a photo of her hard at work.

This afternoon at 4pm, the kids were treated to a lion dance show in celebration of the new lunar new year. Daddy joined her at the show because she was telling us that it was too scary for her a couple nights ago.

It turned out to be not as scary as she thought but I’m sure she was relieved to have Daddy there with her.

I’m surprised she touched the lion.

Here’s her very classic response to the lion. When it approaches, she stands back, puts her hands on her hips, and scowls at it. Hilarious.
