Sota’s Party

IMG_0870

Janie’s “boyfriend” Sota is moving to Japan in a little more than a week. He had a going-away party at his apartment and we were there early enough for the two kids to have some alone time before the others arrived.

Peanut had a fun time with their tunnel.

The apartment was on the 9th floor and it was overlooking the Caltrain Station.

They also enjoyed watching the excavator working to fill a giant pothole down below.

We managed to get a group photo of the the kids together. All the boys are from Janie’s class. If you look out the window, you can see our building down the street!

Bon Voyage to Sota and his family!!!

“I have a dream…”

IMG_0794

This month, Janie has been learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. They even have a song about him in the tune of “London Bridges”. This evening, when I walked in the door from work, I found Janie sitting at the computer watching Dr. King’s famous speech. I guess you can consider this as homework. 🙂

Evening Walk Home

IMG_0540

I’ve been sick for the past two days and finally felt well enough to leave the house. So, I buckled Peanut up in the stroller and took a walk to Janie’s school.

IMG_0542

She was up on the roof playing with WuWu (the one in yellow) and was pleasantly surprised to see me.

We decided to walk home and Janie ran to her heart’s content. It was finally a day that wasn’t raining and she wasn’t bogged down by a rain jacket and rain boots. We also got a few cute photos of them together at sunset.

This one (above) is my favorite.

Peanut also got to watch his big sister do some jumping. She looks like she’s ready for some parkour.

You can also hear Peanut giggling in the background. She’s so entertaining…

The Velveteen Rabbit

img_2110

This morning, Janie and her class walked together to the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to watch The Velveteen Rabbit. They had enough tickets for one parent to also attend.

img_2117

Dada went along but was demoted to #2 with Janie’s best buddy Sota there.

She really missed him while we were on vacation.

In the theater, she got a good view of the stage and enjoyed the dancing.

For lunch, she had a date with Dada at one of their favorite places, Chipotle, of course.

Pre-K Conference

img_8250

Mommy and Daddy had their parent-teacher conference today and got to hear about all the wonderful things she’s learning and doing at school. It’s always fun to hear what they have to say about our little girl. They reported that she excels in writing, fine motor activities, and gross motor activities. They also said that she is very shy in large group activities and more expressive in small groups. She is a good helper, a good listener, and very independent throughout the day.  She also plays well with all the other kids in the class. They said she is Kindergarten ready and should do well next year. Let’s just hope we can find her a good school by this summer. We couldn’t be prouder of our KK!!
