Peanut’s 4th Birthday

It’s Peanut’s 4th birthday and his day started with a giant breakfast with Dada and Janie.

At school, Peanut brought a book to share and the Miss Summer read it to the class.

After school, we took him to Southshore for a long-overdue haircut.

So handsome!

When we asked what he wanted for this birthday, Peanut said “I want a basket.” After some thought, I remembered that Janie got to go to Daiso with Ankong to pick out whatever she wanted for her birthday. Apparently that made quite an impression on him and he wanted to do the same for his.

So we walked around the store with his basket and did a little shopping.

Then we asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner, he said “SPAGHETTI!!” So we went to Trabocco…just as we did last year for his 3rd birthday.

Back at home, we gave him a scoop of mint chip ice cream with a candle.

I’d say he had a pretty good birthday. Happy 4th, Peanut!!! Love you!

Legos

Peanut and his posse of boys hang out at the Lego table a lot.

I also love that the teacher lets them “save” what they made by placing it on the counter before they leave. Who knows if it’s still there the next morning but it really helps us get out the door when he’s in the middle of building something at pick-up time.

Father’s Day Celebration

This afternoon, Peanut and his class did a little performance for all the dads. Dada couldn’t make it but Mama came to record the performance and enjoy some ice cream with him. He made this painted picture and sang a song.

This was their 4th time singing the song so Peanut looked a little less enthusiastic in this video. I just like this one because he’s standing up close and next to his best buddy Ethan.

Last Day of 1st Grade

It’s the last day of 1st grade for Janie and she has learned so much this year. We have really enjoyed having Ms. Bliss as her teacher and hope that she will return in the fall to be her 2nd grade teacher. Janie also started out with some missing teeth and now has two giant grown-up teeth in its place. She has learned addition and subtraction up to 3 digits, knows how to count coins, and also knows how to tell time on a clock. She did STAR testing mid-way through the year and was reading at a 2nd grade level. She is also enjoying lots of science and geography. What a productive year!

This morning, Mommy and Daddy walked her to school.

She was off at 12:30 today so we picked her up and started driving down to Cerritos.

We got to Yai and Ta’s house by 8pm, which was early enough for Alice and Leela to come over to play.
