This baby is so entertained by his own image. We don’t have a mirror at home so we use the front-facing camera on the iPad to keep him entertained during Tummy Time.

Peanut was supposed to be taking a nap but instead, he was extra chatty this afternoon.

Auntie Michelle left us a bag of her homegrown tomatoes and Janie gobbled up the green one this evening.

If you listen carefully, you can hear her whisper, “yummy”.

Peanut and Mama went to Oakland for lunch today for a change in scenery. He hung out with Auntie Ranee for a bit while Mama ate lunch.

He also chatted with Auntie Stephanie (a speech therapist) and showed off some of the sounds he’s making nowadays.

This morning, I found the two kids quietly entertaining themselves on the floor next to each other.

It was a rare moment of peace and quiet in the house. Of course it only lasted a few minutes.

Peanut got fussy soon after that and then crazy big sister came by to see what was going on.

This photo and their expressions pretty much sums up most of the day with these two kids together.

This afternoon, Janie’s school had Curriculum Night. All the parents came by at 4:15 and joined the class for circle time. They passed around the Talking Stick and said a little something with the group.

The class had also prepared a Family Book from pictures that we had sent to school. Her other teacher, Sharla, read each student’s page from the book. I missed the beginning of Janie’s page but caught most of it on video.

Hm…this is all pretty accurate stuff!

Afterward, we got to explore the classroom and saw one of Janie’s paintings on the wall. She titled it “a butterfly”.

They are learning about bugs right now and have a big ladybug habitat in the classroom.

Janie painted black dots on her ladybug and glued googly eyes too.

She also had snack with her friends. This little girl next to her is Gabby. Mama had a conversation with her mom the other day and learned that Janie and Gabby used to go to story time at the library all the time. Her mom recognized her when Gabby first started this preschool. What a small world!

For dinner, we went to Public House and it looks like Janie still likes the taste of lemons.

She also thought it was too dark outside so she brought her dinosaur flashlight with her for the walk to and from the restaurant.

This girl is always so happy to have Kao Mun Gai (a.k.a. Hainan Chicken Rice) for dinner. It’s also one of Mama’s favorite meals. Luckily, Dada learned how to make it from Yai a while back.

This evening, Janie set-up camp in her bed with her babies (in their beds made out of Amazon boxes). She read stories to them while dinner was being prepared.

During dinner, Peanut wanted some company so he sat on Dada’s lap while ate.

After dinner, Janie chatted with Ankong and Ama over FaceTime.

For dinner, we had soba and salmon. We tried to convince her that she should hold both chopsticks in one hand but she showed us how efficient she could be with one chopstick in each hand.

This girl is stubborn but had a good point. She later used the chopsticks the right way to pick up and eat the salmon.

Before bed, she sat in her “bedroom” and read some of her favorite books. One of them happened to be called “Chopsticks”.
