Cerritos has some open playgrounds now! So fun!!!

This morning, we woke up to a lovely view of the ocean at our hotel in Carlsbad.

After breakfast, we took a hotel shuttle to the beach down the street. They also provided us with free chairs and umbrellas.

Ponto State Beach was pretty empty and had a restroom nearby. The kids had a really fun time!

Leela took a nap before we headed back.

It’s Alice’s Birthday AND Halloween today. Uncle Johnny prepared some fun activities as part of the birthday celebration.

Take a look at these balloon animals!!

We all sang “Happy Birthday” to Alice and then headed out for some Socially Distant Trick-or-Treating.

The neighborhood moms planned a scavenger hunt and doors were decorated. Candy was left out in buckets at the door front too.

They all made out like bandits tonight!!

This guy had a packet pick-up this week and got a fireman helmet from the Alameda Fire Department.

He also had a Halloween activity to finish before school tomorrow.

Peanut had a busy evening. He went through the Amazon toy catalog and circled what he wanted on his wish list.

He also took care of Baby.

He also had some homework to do. He finished his pumpkins on the fence project and did a tallying/charting activity.

The kids did some painting with watercolors today.

Peanut made a robot and a submarine.

Janie also made a submarine. Look at the contrast between our 5-year-old and 8-year-old!

Janie had her Green Belt Test today so Peanut came prepared with things to do and things to eat.

Here is her routine and kick.

She passed and brought home another broken board. She moves up to a Green-Black Belt.

After the test, we went to have lunch at a new Japanese curry/katsu place.

They had tables outside so we actually got to sit down and eat at the restaurant for a change.

When you have nothing to do at the park, you try to climb a redwood tree.

This is part of Janie’s creating writing homework. She drew the creature that she wrote about. It’s part turtle, tiger, cheetah, and leopard.

Peanut has these flipbooks that he has to make some weeks. He follows along with the video that one of the teachers posted.
