New Helmet

Peanut got his very own helmet and tried it out today. He has the basic concept of how to use the scooter but our sidewalks are too bumpy, narrow, and curvy for this little beginner.

This terrain is definitely more challenging than The Embarcadero which is flat, wide, and straight. Maybe we’ll have to go out to the driveway next time.

Janie is also getting pretty good at her Razor scooter too. She’s taking the turns a lot smoother now and doesn’t fall or stop nearly as much as before. These two will be riding side by side soon enough.

Costco and Hip-Hop

On our way to class, we stopped at Costco to pick up groceries for the week. The kids were kept occupied with snacks. We put the glasses on Peanut since there would be so much to see there. He kept them on the whole time and even fell asleep in the car with them on our drive to dance class.

At hip-hop class, Janie did a somersault all on her own. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch it in time on this video.

Sophie was also in class this week. Yay!

Warm Day

We had a warm sunny day in Alameda so we hopped in the pool before lunch. Peanut was not a fan of the water today but it may have just been too close to his nap time.

Janie, on the other hand, had a fun time floating around and getting some swimming lesson’s from Dada on the kickboard. She also put her head underwater at least 5 times.

As soon as we got home and rinsed him off, he was passed out in turtle mode. Poor baby.

Meanwhile, Janie rode her scooter to Safeway with Dada and bought ingredients for our tasty burgers grilled in the patio.

Hip-Hop Class

Sophie has been going to a hip-hop/gymnastics class in Oakland so we thought Janie could try it out. On the first week, she just sat off to the side and watched the whole thing. Last week, we missed because our timing didn’t work out. However, this week, she pumped herself up and was excited because Mama taught her how to do a somersault. We weren’t sure how she would do especially since she was saying she didn’t want to take a dance class and also because Sophie wasn’t going to be there today. Mama was pleasantly surprised to see that she jumped right from the start and managed to participate in the class the entire time.
