The kids brought down their skateboards and had fun riding down Uncle Jason’s driveway.
Disneyland 2018

It’s Christmas Eve so we went to Disneyland!!! We got our tickets online so we entered the park via Monorail. Peanut was so excited because there’s a monorail in his truck book.

We rode a bunch of rides today and Peanut was fired up about “driving” Dumbo up and down.

Janie was a little worried at first but she rode Thunder Mountain Railroad TWICE and loved it. The first time, she sat with Mama and Alice. On the second ride, she got to ride with just Alice. She’s growing up too quickly.

At Critter Country, we got a family photo with Pooh. Janie was brave enough to give him a hug this year. Unfortunately, Peanut was not so into him.

When it was time for Peanut to take a nap, the girls took a ride to Tom Sawyer’s Island to do some exploring.

Peanut kept sleeping so we went on a few more rides.

One of those rides was Space Mountain!! Mama and Janie got a front seat and the ride was SO FAST!!

Here’s the photo that was taken of us at the end of the ride.

After Peanut woke up from his massive 3-hour nap, we hurried over the It’s a Small World

He was also fired up to ride the Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters ride.

Janie also rode Matterhorn for the first time even when Alice was too scared to go. We were so proud of her.
Peanut LOVED riding the Astro Orbitor
At the end of the night, we managed to get some photos taken in front of the castle. The middle one of the kids always makes me laugh.

Before heading home, we took a ride around the entire park on the Disneyland Railroad. The kids were able to stay up until the park closed at midnight. So fun!
What a fun day!!!

First Belt Test

Janie had her first Kung Fu belt test. She’s currently a white-black belt and hoping to move up to solid yellow. There were a lot of kids testing today and they all tolerated the 2-hour process quite well.
She had a series of tests. The first one was her self-defense move.
Next was her white-black routine.
The final test was her kick. She had never tried kicking a board before but if she has the technique right, it will break the board in half. And she did on the first try! Yay!

During the whole test, Peanut played with Natalie’s little sister.

We are so proud of this tough little girl!
Last Dip

On our last morning in Hawaii, we had breakfast nearby and Peanut practiced writing his name while we waited for our food.

Then while Mama did some last-minute shopping, the kids went into the pool with Dada one last time.

Before checking out, we took one last family photo on the lanai.

Our flight was smooth and Dada sat with the kids this time.

Janie also finished up her homework so she could turn it in tomorrow when she returns to school.
What a fun vacation! Can’t wait for our next trip!
One more day!!

It’s our last full day in Hawaii so we spent a good part of the day at the beach. It started out a bit cloudy but then the sun came out in all its glory.

We played in the ocean and built sand castles until we had our fill.

Koi Feeding
We were around for the Koi Feeding today and the kids had fun throwing the pellets into the water.

Peanut was a little too enthusiastic and nearly gave Mama a heart attack every time he made a throw.
We thought we were going to have to scoop him out of the pond at some point.

When we were all done, the nice lady gave the kids a tattoo.

Back to the Beach

This afternoon, we headed back to the beach for some more time in the ocean and sand.
There was lots of floating around today!

After the beach, the kids had an ice cream cone.

Then we went to Edge Bar to watch the sun go down.

What a fun day!
Dole Plantation

We drove to the Dole Pineapple Plantation today and the kids were amused by the tiny pineapples growing out of the ground.

We also took a ride on the Pineapple Express and got a tour of the grounds, learned how pineapples are grown, and saw a variety of different trees and plants.

Peanut was excited to see a coconut tree.

The kids had a fun time exploring the garden on the way to the cafe.

As we waited for our Dole Whip, Peanut got a bag of chips and was found doing a little dance. Funny guy.

Pool Time
We have gotten to a point where both kids are old enough to play in the pool with their floaties on without grown-ups in the water with them. They had a great time playing while Mama and Dada read on the lounge chairs.
Lagoon

This morning, we played at the lagoon down the street from our hotel. It’s super shallow and calm with lots of sun and sand to play. We pitched our beach tent and the kids played until lunch time.

It’s so fun to watch Janie swimming in the ocean like a little fish.

After lunch, Peanut took a really long nap by the pool while Janie played.
