This week at Tennis Camp has been extra fun because Zoe is there too!!

After Tennis, Auntie Eleen picked them both up and brought them home to have snacks a couple games of Pokemon.
Peanut turned 4 today and he has learned and experienced so much this past year.

In August, he started swimming lessons and really enjoyed his new teacher, Coach Jin.

In September, he received his kung fu uniform and started the Little Tiger class. This guy became a big fan of Bruce Lee too.

In October, he went to the dentist and sat for his first set of x-rays and cleaning.

In November, he learned how to spell his name and started drawing the letter T.

In December, we went to Hawaii and he wasn’t afraid of floating around in the ocean or going down the big slide at the hotel. Swimming lessons have paid off.

In January, Peanut got on a snowboard for the first time and LOVED it. He was also not afraid to go down the hill from the moment he got clicked into the board.

In February, we went to Vancouver for the week and he discovered Tim Bits!!! This guy could finish a whole box of 6 doughnut holes all on his own. He also took his first snowboarding lesson.

By March, he was able to write his name and draw figures. He was also finding more interest in coloring.

By April, he was able to write all the letters of the alphabet, could write his last name and fill out a birthday card with Mama helping him with the spelling.

In May, he went to his first baseball game and enjoyed chanting “Let’s Go Oakland!” with the crowd.

In June, he took his first cruise and also visiting Alaska for the first time with his family.

And now it’s July and has turned 4 years old. We have learned that he has a very silly side but also gives the best hugs. In addition to all the things listed above, he had learned to pump a swing, dress himself completely, and has started to sound out letters. He has moved up to the white-black belt class in kung fu and moved up from Starfish to Seahorse in swim. His laugh is infectious and his confidence in life is pretty cool to watch. We love our Peanut and can’t wait to see what’s in store for him this coming year.

The kids were up early this morning and played in their pajamas for a bit.

Janie even rode her bike up and down the hill in her PJs.

After breakfast, the kids snacked on watermelon and played in the shelter.

We took a very short hike up the trail to see what was up there.

The kids did their own version of hiking up and down the rock piles.

Peanut was a filthy mess by mid-day and it was too hot to take a nap in the tent.

We cooled off with more watermelon that was chilled in the cooler and then cut up. Peanut found out that Reese is just as much of a watermelon monster.

The kids found ways to keep themselves entertained.

Other friends arrived in the afternoon and brought their puppy.

Check out our circle of wagons – much needed for bringing all our stuff to the campsite from the car.

At dusk, we roasted marshmallows and the kids had so many s’mores.

What a fun day!!

Janie is back in Tennis Camp and so is Coach Kyle! Both Mama and Janie are so happy to see him again. He’s going to be starting this 3rd year at UCLA this fall so this could very well be be his last summer working at Harbor Bay Club.

This afternoon, Janie rode home from tennis camp on her bike while Mama ran behind her.

After swim, wen had dinner at Spin. They love getting the kid’s gelato at the end.

Then we went to Target to pick up a few things.

On the drive back home, the sun was setting and the kids wanted to go to the beach for a bit. What a nice way to end the work week.

Peanut has been moved up from Little Tiger to the white-black class. That means he’s in class at the same time as Janie! Yippee!!

Look at him learning his new routine!

This morning we gathered at Uncle Jason’s house and then headed to their pool.

We had water guns that we bought at the Dollar Store yesterday and the boys battled.
It looked like it was gonna be too cold at first but the sun came out shortly after we got into the pool and warmed us up very quickly.

Last night we drove down to Cerritos for the long weekend.

In the morning, Peanut and Leela went to the park. We also experienced an earthquake as we were getting buckled up in the car.

Back at Yai and Ta’s house, we had a barbecue and Peanut gobbled up a bunch of Thai BBQ chicken that Yai made.

All the cousins were at the house and Ta gave them all plenty to do. They had water balloons, regular balloons, and a sandbox too!

They also went on a little “hike” in the backyard jungle with walking sticks and all.

In the evening, we all went across the street to ride bikes and scooters.

As the sun went down, we drove to Uncle Johnny’s house to watch the fireworks from his backyard.

Happy Birthday, America!

Peanut has been wanting a big kid bike for a few months now and Dada got him one today. We bought him a slightly bigger one and kept the training wheels on for him.
