No More Training Wheels!!
Today, Peanut said to Mama, “I’m ready to take the training wheels off!” So that’s what we did today and he took off like a baby bird ready to fly! I’m glad some good is still coming out of this very strange time in our life. Way to go, Peanut!!
Day 3 at Home

Each day gets a little more organized. Janie actually did all these things today while Dada was on work calls all day.
When Mama got home, we went for a run/bike/skateboard ride around the neighborhood. Peanut has gotten really good at riding his bike with training wheels. His training wheels barely touch the ground!

We also went to the brand new parking lot that no one is using right now because everyone is working from home.

Socially Distanced Kung Fu

There are new rules at Kung Fu – no hand-to-hand contact, no equipment, just practicing routines. When we arrived this morning, Peanut was only one of two kids in his class. Janie had about 5 in hers. What a strange time this is…
There goes the season…

Soda Springs has officially suspending operations until further notice. We were hoping to go back at least one more time with our family pass. Looks like the season’s over for us…so bummed.
Passed!!

Oh man…that took way too long (16 months). He finally passed his Seahorse swim class goals and is finally a Silverfish. Aquatech is making a killing on kids like mine. The swim center was super empty today too. People are taking this virus very seriously.
Sunset Ride

The kids rode alongside Mama on her run this evening.

Cypress Mountain

We went to Cypress Mountain today and Janie was ready to have a full day of long green runs. We managed to get Peanut a lesson and it turned out to be a private lesson because there were no other kids signed up. What a win!

Peanut’s snowboarding coach had such a great time with him and was impressed by how fearless he was. He said he was so fearless that they spent the whole lesson on the beginner run with a real lift.

After Peanut’s lesson, we all went up the lift together and had fun watching them shred down the hill. Peanut did a lot of crashing but he is so good at getting right back up.

We had a fun day as a family of four. We can’t wait to take them back to Soda Springs again when we get home.

We drove across the Lions Gate Bridge to Downtown Vancouver for dinner.

The kids slept in the car and Peanut kept sleeping at the restaurant.

We met up with Auntie Amy at Fanny Bay Oyster Co. and had a seafood feast.

Rest Day

We checked out of the hotel and returned to Auntie Amy’s house last night so we had a rest day. Everyone went to work and school so we just hung out at the house.

Auntie Amy gave them this cool new toy called PlusPlus and they spent a long time playing with them.

We also borrowed Amelia and Ellie’s scooters and went outside for a while. The kids rode around and around the loop out front, which had a nice hill.

For lunch, we went out for Japanese food and stopped at Tim Hortons because Peanut had slept right through lunch.

When everyone got home, we went out for dinner with the rest of the family and the kids continued playing with the PlusPlus pieces.

Before bed, all the kids read together in the bedroom. So cute.
Mt. Seymour

After lunch, we piled into the minivan and headed up to Mt. Seymour for some afternoon/night snowboarding.

We didn’t get lessons for the kids since the beginner run was a gentle slope with a magic carpet.

We had a fun time but the grown ups were exhausted following the kids around and picking them up.

We went to the lodge for a snack and the kids ate quite a bit.

The sun started setting but the Janie and Amelia were ready to go again. So, Peanut and Ellie stayed with Auntie Amy while Mama and Dada took the girls down the long green run.

They were so excited!

Janie did great making it down on her own and fell only twice. So fun!
